Tacking in staples would probably draw blood, which can have diseases, which no idiot that can't keep their mask on is worth taking that risk for.

Public humiliation eh? My variations of that would be too severe for people to want to come back to the site if I used that means. Perhaps fines? That would be logical because you are paying for insurance for the site so it would be a fair distribution of cost for exactly the kind of reason that such is purchased.

Then use Gorilla glue to get em on.
Used it to put of a 200 pound 8 ft long plywood cabinet up, NO nails

Cut the masks off at the end of the day, if they bleed its ok because they will bleed in their cars on the way home, not near you.:D

Ah, now there's an idea. Only problem with that is the amount of glue would probably cause brain damage from the fumes, and obviously someone that can't remember to keep their mask on doesn't need any more brain damage, as probably too much has occurred already. You must be careful or you could turn loose an even furtherly degraded group of morons out into the world to make driving, politics, music, fashion, etc. even worse than they already are, which is approaching cataclysmic levels of ignorance and dismay.

There must be something in the air today. Three times I warned the same person to stop lifting his mask today. He finally got the point when I pointed it out in front of the group, that if he carried on doing it I would make him sit out the next game and award the game to the opposing team if I caught him again. Then he preceded to try to cheat and when he was warned about this he then decided that he would play on the ajoining field when he was lit up and in the dead zone. I had to keep an eye on him for most of the day and in doing so I could not do my job fully by keeping an eye on the rest of the game. Its muppets like this who ruin it for the rest of the players

KO the staples seem a bit extreme how about that magic substance called Gorilla Glue. hell this sticks anything to anything else and is a bugger to remove.
I think its time to get some sheep eyes and demonstrate what happens when a Paintball makes contact to an eye.:D

If anybody is dumb enough to lift their mask then I dont think further brain damage is possible. If you are really worried then leave the masks on at the end of the day. The only effect on the world they will have is giving people a good laugh.

Well Tortoise at least that story had a good ending when the guy got lit up, which should send a pretty clear message to the little troll. The eye demonstration should be pretty good, but often less will do like when I showed a couple kids once a busted lip I had from a shot that went under my mask the day before which hurt like hell and if it had been closer would have required stitches ON THE PINK PART OF MY LOWER LIP. I told them that it could be worse and they got the point instantly and I didn't see them or anyone else in their group ever take off their masks that day.

The answer seems obvious to me.
The manufacturers should fit the masks with chin straps. The straps should be neoprene-lined for comfort, bright neon coloured so marshalls can see if it's in place and with a buckle that requires two hands to remove( so it's hard to remove when you are carrying a marker). Low cost and easy to design.

Fields should also invest in thermal lenses as fogging up is the major reason rental players lift.

Chin straps? Forget that crap. Those are annoying enough (itchy and makes your chin sweat more and would severely impede communication) that more masks would come off. Thermal lenses are ok, but sometimes those get wiped on the inside by renters and get scratched up really badly. There's an insert that my old field would use called Combat Vision that worked basically like a thermal lens that wouldn't scratch and was cheaper.
