Just a couple of things...
Let me say first that this is a good idea, in theory, but it get's a bit sticky when you start forcing teams to move up a division mid-season. If you're playing for a season title, which is what everyone is hoping to win if you play all the events, then it doesn't seem right to force that team to move up before the end of the season, and forfeit their points because they're doing well. Player / team rankings would have to be based on a season total, and then applied before the next season, if we're talking about Millennium. That said though, the system in place would not allow a team to pick up players from a higher division at the end of the season, in hopes of pulling off an upset in the last event. That is what we're really talking about. And there were quite a few Am B teams who did just that at Campaign. Thankfully, none of those teams stole the event.
This system would also have to be influenced by how many of the same guys played together on that team, or if you've got a mix of guys that have high rankings, but never played together before. Part of that experience gained is based on playing together as a team, not just the individual experience. Only to an extent though, because good players are good players. But then look at that German Am B team at Campaign that had "those two pro players who shall remain nameless." You see where I'm going with this GOOSE! If you're not understanding me, maybe BROCKDORFF could explain it to you.
They had a couple of pro's on the roster, but still did not make it to finals, so the experience of playing together factors in.
Or set a limit on the players themselves. If 50% of your roster played at least 3 events as pro the year before, then you can play no lower than Am A. For Am B, you would have to weigh the experience of the total roster. And then the experience points would be factored based on the results of that Pro / Am A team. I'm just throwing out numbers - they could be adjusted to where everyone agrees. My team, for example, finished 4th overall, but had 3 or 4 ABSOLUTE novices at 2 of the 5 events we played, and the results reflected it. So there has to be some consideration for Am B and Novice, as to the total weight of the roster.
Just some thoughts.....
