Hey mate,

I dont care about anyone except of the rules. The problem is, that I can only deal with problems which were told to me. So if you think that somebody was wrong and its a "not in the game" decision but a severe safety issue with which I can deal afterwards, dont hesitate to come around an TELL me!

thanks. This would make the series better...

joern
Joern,

That was a really really unfortunate little comment of yours.... Because I did, I did come and TELL you.... and...? Did you take the time to investigate the incidents? No, you looked at me and told me, right in my face : "I didn't see these incidents, so there is nothing I can do about it....."

And before that, we were talking about having consistent reffing on all fields. And you said : "Well, that's to bad but we had a meeting, there is nothing I can do if different fields have different ways of applying the same rules......".

Joern, it is not a personnal attack, I agreed with every decisions that were taken on these issues... I have a problem with the decisions that weren't taken...

Anyway, thanks to all the people who posted on this thread, specially Johan (you will never cease to amaze me by your insightful comments on this board:rolleyes:) and red merkin and TJ(you guys seem to be the only ones to actually read my posts). I am through with ALL this.

Ok guys after reading through all those posts, and not actually playing at the Max Masters i have not seen one solution to these so called biased reffing and so on. So im gonna give one.

As a majority of the marshalls are made up of team players how about taking on people who have never played tournament paintball, and have no 'so called' contacts with teams. The Millenium guys train these people to marshall agressively and throw them the rule book. In doing so they marshall the games precisely and to the book, giving everyone 100% accurate reffing.

If players at the end of the day have problems with these marshalls and would no longer wish to play the series, know they cant get away with stuff. Which at the end of the day is their problem!!

Also as for all of this cussing, and swearing to each other isnt good for appearance. And will drag the sport down. If you have problems with other players then PM each other dont put it on here for every one to see!!

In theory great, unfortunatley people who don't play tend to make pretty crap marshalls, they're unable to 'read' the game as players would. (Has been discussed in greater depth before:))

Yes!! you have just said my point exactly, 'they're unable to read the game as players would'. Well as I look at it thats what the marshalls of today have their downfall. They are blinded by the way the game is being played and is marshalled accordingly, rather than how it should be marshalled, fully by the book!!!

You see my point...?

Also you said 'read the game' which to me sounds like you can read what is about to happen next, so you can be ready for it. But in theory they should be 'seeing' and 'watching' whats happening rather than interpret whats about to happen.

I hope that makes sense......

With the rule book they must throw them a ton of money. I can't see anyone doing this just for fun, especially when you have to pay for reffing (travel costs)!

I believe Millennium series will be in trouble with reffing if they don't start to compensate refs more. This year pros don't benefit anything from reffing except for the 200 points for the series. The points really don't mean anything for pros as there is no bonus for placing high in the series (correct me if I'm wrong). Am A's and B's have a bonus for high placing and therefore they are willing to ref. As a result of this the reffing in the Millennium series hangs on the shoulders of Am A teams this year. They have had to drag in unranked Am B teams to do the job as well.

Correct me if im wrong Nick mate, but wasnt that basically what I said

"Also you said 'read the game' which to me sounds like you can read what is about to happen next, so you can be ready for it."

But yes knowing where to stand and see players is part of the training and learning, right! Also correct me if im wrong, but you dont have to play tourni paintball to know where to marshall from. As thats where the teacher being a paintballer tells you to stand in a certain place when someone is the last person left, and if a player moves to a certain place and so on.

Darren

P.S a little off topic quiz for you lovely people. If there is one player left ingame, on a back right coke stand up and there is a player from the opposite team coming down the tape to mug him. Who out of both players do you watch the most for a shot, and gimme a reason why?
