That's what I can't understand!

All the previous legs it has been a case of ALL guns have been cronied before the game starts. But then not in all cases have the guns been untouched between chroying and the game starting. It's been possible to chronie your gun, get an ok from the chrony judge, walk away with your gun in your hand and wait for your game to start. There's nothing stopping people dialling up another 10-20 fps before the game. I'm not saying this happens but it could. I can see the time issue popping up, but I'd rather still be playing at midnight than finish mid afternoon and go home looking like I'm dressed in bubblewrap!

The M25's at Reading & Dunstable had it sorted. When the game before you is about to start, your team & the opposing team goes up to chrony. This way all 14 guns (if 7 man) can be chronied whilst the game is going on and then when that game is over the next 2 teams walk straight on, get banded up and get ready to go. No need to chrony them on the field because it has already been done. If all tourneys were run like this, there would be minimal time loss as if anyone's gun was running a bit hot they would have the time to turn it down before needing to be on the field.

Makes sense doesn't it?

Sorry if I'm being a bit dense, but what is the advantage of turning the speed up? Its stupid and dangerous, and surely if the paint is good enough, then it will break at less than 250 fps. So why would anyone purposefully turn their gun hot? Thats just stupid and if anyone gets found out they should get banned for life.

The problem with chronoing guns before a game is that on some air systems unless you lock the thing down you can chrono in and then turn the reg up by hand whilst playing. Its been a long time since i have seen judges check that the reg is locked down on some air systems which they should do when the chrono a gun.

Higher velocity means that you have to 'arch' the markers less to get distance.
Paints going quicker  take an increase of 20 fps every second that paintball will be travelling an extra 20 foot.

I thought paint had a tendancy to 'wing' quite badly at velocity's over 300??

Not just range the faster a ball is traveling the less time the oposing player has to react to avoid the ball if the ball is doing an extra 20 or 30 fps then your chances of seeing it coming and avoiding it are much reduced .

I've got one from Sunday...... 3 inches off my right nut.......just as bad as that............ bonus ball too by a player who'd played on and was being told to get off by the marshals........... he's lucky I was too lazy to chase him.
