I'm in no way using the RL as a benchmark for what is right in this game any more than I would use some other people's indiscretions in paintball as a benchmark for all that is wrong.

It just so happens that everything that I would judge as good in this game, like, not cheating, behaving professionally, dedication and so on, are best exemplified by the Russians.

The RL approach is not a law, I am not saying it is, I am merely saying the laws of paintball that I would hold as inviolate are all respected by the Ruskies...and all credit to them !!

Just a little side note...

While re-reading the latest set of rules for this year, in order to get ready for marshalling in Toulouse, I came across this little tidbit...

4.08 Only qualified individuals will be allowed to film, photograph, tape or record games. Qualifications thereof will be determined on an individual basis by the promoter

Not that this makes what they have done to RL any better - because as far as I am concerned, telling one team to stop filming because others are so paranoid that they see X-File cases behind every bunker, is absolutly grotesque - but according to the bizarre MS rules that they where within their right to do so.

I do think it's funny how you've tried to ally yourself to Robbo in a vain attempt to scare me off.

Perhaps Rancid is suggesting there are bigger issues here than RL's emotional well-being and everyone's outrage might be better spent less on RL solidarity (not that there's anything wrong with that) than on insisting such nonsense stop and by suggesting ways to handle such situations that aren't yet covered by the rule book. [As I've just seen Goose's latest quoting the Mil Rules let's make that a clarification of existing rules--if you want to call a ready made catch-all a rule.] Or maybe I only think that's what he's about cus that's more or less what I said oh, 3 pages ago, and is on point for Teej's suggestion the whole vidoeataping issue be handled prior to an event at the captain's meeting.

On a wildly unrelated topic I just knew Robo was using X-ball trials to secretly build up a fifth column cadre of ballers and now Upsupball has let the cat out of the bag. Not sure yet what he's planning but could it involve anything less than world domination? I think not.

Goose, that's one heck of a rule... This is something we ought to try and sort out for Toulouse. Ultimately that rule could be used indiscriminantly to stop anyone filming... Now controlling who films and takes pictures on field I agree with 100% but off field? nah not at all.
