Hey Rancid...

Are we not confusing the issue here with the RL, ie the RL do it so it can't be wrong.
The RL do not do 'on-field' filming. They film from the sidelines. Like many spectators.

I agree that anyone on field has to be completely impartial and have a reason to be there. I do not think team photographers should be on field even taking pictures (and some photographers I've seen shouldn't be on field either judging from how they give away players! (myself and Ant excluded ;) ).

Now I see that point and may side with you on it on other issues but not this one. Their filming is done from the sidelines and harmless in all ways during that games play... for the future of the other teams competing against them it's not so harmless though...

Rancid have you ever seen the guy that films the RL? He's pretty meak and quiet and just sits in the stands watching and talking into his camera. I actually watched him one time and he seems to be filming his own players not the opposition so it's not even as if he is using the camera to point out the opposition to his team, or if he is using it to see where they are so he can tell his team... I would be more suspicious if he was filming the opposite end of the field...

Rancid

I was not debating only offering an opinion as I stated and if the sport is to grow, move on, ect then surly un bisa collective footage would be a good start. As I said all other sports do this especially football so why not paintball? Have you never watched your self on film and cringed? It's one of the easiest ways reconize your own short fallings. I have to read my spellings and cringe and often time permiting go back and correct them. I am not advacting re wind in games, just pointing out that freeze frame replay of an event will teach you just as much as a big fat welt!

Rancid, custom and practice, it's a powerful weapon for prediction and one that should not be ignored.
It's not an absolute science, granted, but it does afford us with a common sense approach to assessing events.

In all of the 30 or so games I have seen these guys play, I have yet to see them moan, bitch, throw a tantrum, act anything but courteous, play on, wipe and so on......and to my knowledge, nor has anybody else...is it any wonder why we would assume they are not in radio contact with their players ?

I mean, just on a common sense footing, they have already been accused of this, how stupid would you have to be to continue doing the crime ?
A President of a bank is not that stupid !!!!!

I've never read such a weak, limp-wristed 'debate' on these boards. What are you all a bunch of chicken lickens?

rancid i beleive you know your coment will cause lots of people to argue with you and the forum will become a slagging match again. here are my opinions on your comments with no slagging:
1 - yes, you probably are the only person who thinks that on-field filming should be banned, but if you had read the thread properly then you would know that the filming is outside the netting (off field)
2 - you RL comment is designed to bait people, while writing this new posts have been going up and i hope for your sake that they are not about your comment as many people who like and support the RL, especially robbo and myself, will take offence
3 - weak debate, most people will agree that this is a good debate, and please note it is a debate and that means if people do not want to get meaty in their replies then they don't have to.

Mother, is that you?
Robbo, I don't for one minute think the RL are doing anything out of the ordinary... my point is, you can't judge what is right and wrong in paintball by referring to the RL. That is not a law.

Re-read this thread mate. It's moribund.

Usup, get off your high horse and re read my post. Re read what it says, not what you think it says.

I'm not trying to start a slagging match mate, but I am trying to start a debate. If I've come to the wrong place, I apologize.

I do think it's funny how you've tried to ally yourself to Robbo in a vain attempt to scare me off.

people don't judge what RL do as being right or wrong. but they are the best example of what is right. how many times have we seen pro teams blow a gasket and storm off, swear etc - lots, what about the RL - never.
we want the sport to go further then we need good examples to show the un-educated (in paintball) public what we really are about - RL is this example.

the debate was already started, the comments were not needed.

we ally our selves with robbo because we all believe that he is correct, i don't have any thing against you, i don't want to scare you off, but the concensus agree on robbo's opinion, and on the forums people would realise that, the further discussion was just to clear up any loose ends, and discuss what should be done. the debate was close to closing as all the people on it, to the point of your post, had formed their opinions. after your post it set of an arguement.

UPSUPBALL is short for University of Portsmouth Students Union PaintBALL, it is what the president of the club uses on the forums,

As stated before Russian banks and ways of life are different to European and American.

Simon, are you gonna say what you mean or pussyfoot about, I mean, innuendo is such a crass way of confronting a problem :)

Basically Si, if you got a problem, come out with it, it's what 'men' do, after all, we wouldn't want to add any more mystery to this thread, now would we ?
