As i have said before ive shot most top end markers in my short but very chequered time playing,
i think Cockers are great ,but with todays trend for faster...ramping markers,i feel they lose out!
now,......end of the day its all down to the guy or girl who holds the bloody thing.....easy really!..

but can the cocker keep up,time will tell really...
i hope so,and i mean that,be nice to see it move on,!!

Very true, it's not that you can feed balls that fast anyway, or shoot that fast.

The current trend, is how the marker feels when firing fast, or how easy the trigger is to get these fast strings of balls. The speed 05 has changed the feel of angels, with it's ballraced magnetic trigger, and no doubt the e-blades did the same for cockers.

But the question of this thread is whether or not the cocker has hit an impass. Is the gap between the current top of the range markers too great for the cocker to step over and compete.
tom so what your saying is the angel is great becuase it got a magnetic trigger good job! Been in e'blades for years :D
So maybe we i should start a post along the lines of y does it takes wdp ages to introduce new tec i.e eyes magnetic trigger bla bla.

You could do, but that would require a new thread, and also would be ridiculous...

I think the magnetic trigger on both the eblade and the speed sucks.

Both because of the magnet, and the opto trigger (which WDP just beat planet to, by the way).

I much prefer the feel of a normal microswitch and find that most people do too, without realising it...

Why is the Angel now being attacked? isn't the topic about cockers?
Regardless of any facts and figures, open bolt guns feel faster to me I feel I can shoot them faster and have never noticed any differance in accuracy......

You could say that cockers aren't fashionable anymore, its starting to hit over here now; timmys/dm4s/shockers are the guns of the future (ego seems to be doing quite well). Right now, the selling of the eblades here is mimicking 03/04 in the USA, and I don't think the E2 has proved itself over there (please prove me wrong I do love the e2.)
But cockers I think will still dominate the tourney scene here for the same reason as they always: Planet. The service and distance are very good and its an attractive prospect to anyone who loves their cocker but doesnt want to be outshot by one of those weird laserguns of the future.

No, what i said was :

"The speed 05 has changed the feel of angels, with it's ballraced magnetic trigger"

The angel was already a great gun, the 05 trigger just made it better, by using a BALLRACED...MAGNETIC trigger.

i think when you look at most of todays modern superguns, ie timmy,dm5,angel,shocker et al you can see that they all share at least one or two internal functions as a common denominator (technologically). now i am not that technically minded but even i know the cocker is the odd one out with its mysterious workings and as good as they are they USED to be the most accurate marker you could buy. now i think most of the superguns accuracy wise are incredibly similar with volume being the key contender (bps) and who cares if a particular marker is able to cycle 40 times per second?? can your fingers or loader match it??
i admire timmys claim to fire up to 25 bps as it is actually realistic.

as for the ego give it time and we will see if it proves itsself or not. same for the cocker, it is no doubt a classic at the end of the day, and if you own one and are happy enough then who really cares whether or not it is outdated???
