You seem to see loads for sale now. This time last year 2nd hand market was non existent for e-blades and they were snapped up straight away. You can see Nexus' now shifting though for mad prices, sub £500.

I think its not that there reaching the end of there life though, more the fact there is just way more choice now a days.

I've found that a lot of cocker owners get blinkered and tow the cocker line, which happens with most gun owners, but does seem to be a bit more with the autococker..:)

Chuck, 40 bps cycling is low, by todays standards.
And my ancient pvi shocker would shoot paint so fragile it's frightening, and as accurate as you want, and it's about 10 years old.
I've shot sponsored cockers, and they do feel smoother than the regular model, but they still rattle around in your hands, like a rattlesnake on speed.
Software..... you may be a bit naive there mate.
They're not over complicated, just a pump with add ons, and it's amazing really that the design has stayed there for so long.
Look at the opposition, every marker out there has the solenoid, ram, exhaust valve, inside the body, there must be a reason for it...!!!

There are some classic comments in that post Tom!
I'd stick to the other thread on Allen keys if I were you.

as mentioned before tho, theres no point in having a marker that can shoot over 40bps as that function simply wont get used.

i think in fairness the speed of all top end markers isnt really an issue anymore as they can all shoot faster than ya can pull the trigger.

Very true, it's not that you can feed balls that fast anyway, or shoot that fast.

The current trend, is how the marker feels when firing fast, or how easy the trigger is to get these fast strings of balls. The speed 05 has changed the feel of angels, with it's ballraced magnetic trigger, and no doubt the e-blades did the same for cockers.

But the question of this thread is whether or not the cocker has hit an impass. Is the gap between the current top of the range markers too great for the cocker to step over and compete.

i think the price of the top spec cockers stops them from competing. thats about it, much of the top spec contenders are in the same price range and it comes down to personal preference.

for someone to get a nexus cocker they have to really want one and personally find it a cut above the rest and warrent the extra money. ive shot an angel 05 and still prefer my nexus over it, altho most of adrenaline shoot angels and love em, thier not for me.

in my view thats why eclipse brought out the ego, to compete in the area of the market against the 700-800 pound markers, its not the cocker couldnt compete against the other markers, its the price that seperated it

the low end cockers have been reduced in price and there's a new breed of cheaper mech cockers coming along to stay competitive, so maybe the high end stuff will reduce in price or be modified in some other way, the cocker won't just disappear over night, but i feel we are due for the next evolution as the manufacturers will be the first to see sales fall and will not want to give up their slice of the pie !
