But cos its all grey you'll have one thing happen on one field and another on another, or even on the same field dependent upon the nationality of the team / marshals.

i.e.

Player has gun in psp ramp mode, marshall does run away gun test, stops pulling gun stops firing, marshal then pulls trig ONCE 0.9 sec latter, gun fire 3 balls YOUR OUT OF HERE Player.

Next team, marshall knows team, don't throw in thr extra pull at the end, CARRY ON player !!!!

Remember the debackle of the dynobots shockers last year, multiply that by the number of teams present. I'm SSSOOO glad we're not doing bitberg !!

Won't happen. Not with the officials we have this year and the vast majority of the refs being our best pros from last year. We will make sure that there is total consistency field-to-field. Ulrich will see to it that is the case.

That will be you're loss because this will be a great and superbly officiated event. Too bad you're going to miss it.

To repeat what I posted on another thread: There will certainly be a few bugs and glitches on the first morning but I believe they will be kept to a minimum because we have far more pro referees this year. There will be 30 of us including Ulrich and they will be mostly the crème de la crème from last season. Ulrich will definitely run a tight ship and I honestly don't think procedural consistency and harmony will be a problem. We will make every effort to do it right from the beginning.

It may not be easy on the players or us the first day because of the changes but I am optimistic about things shaping up very quickly into the fairest and best-reffed season any major league has ever seen. Even more so than last year.

Steve, Scutty, Ulrich, etc. ?

The Pre-game runaway trigger test:

How will refs determine if shots were fired under or over 100 ms from last trigger pull????

If the test is to be done without any technical means and just be at the refs discretion (i.e. "I "feel" more than 100 ms elapsed") we are going to be in big trouble as a sport, because there is no way a human can accurately determine if 99 or 101 ms elapsed.

To us - and all the other teams out there - it is of great importance to know what technologies are used for testing, so we can ensure we don't have trouble at Maxs.

Well just for reference I've just looked up the CFOA rules, and they are more likely than the Millennium rules to allow ramping (more liberally worded.) If the two sets of rules are interpreted in the same way, and CFOA doesn't allow ramping, then the Millennium rules certainly don't.

We're not playing Bitburg, partly in reaction to the promoter's failure to make teams aware of applicable national laws at last year's event; but it means we get a chance to see what is and isn't allowed with more than 12 hours to get our equipment in order.

Hope so steve, but procedual consistancy does not solve the fact the rule is so porlly worded and open to interpritation in the 1st place. What is your take on it by the way ??

I hope it is, and its the one event I keep meaning to do due to living in germany for 5 years back in the 90's. However, like rabies and the love, we feel the maner in which the 'f' stamp problem and now this rule has been handled does not fill us with confidence we are going to pay our money and get value and a good time in return.

We'll sit this one out and see how it all pans out, and hopefully see you all at the DMA.

I'm afraid I'm no longer in the loop about developing the rules and how they will be implemented. Since I'm just an ordinary foot soldier now I'll just accept what the board and the committees decide. Since I don't know so much yet about the hows and whys I had better not speculate. But I do stick by what I've said that I expect whatever is decided to be applied impartially and consistently. I know this isn't much meat on the bones but it's the best I can do now.

I can say that almost anything is better than what we went through last year and the grossly uneven playing field that existed because we didn't have a complete set of tools to stop the machine guns. At least we have an ROF cap which is a giant step in the right direction. As far as what will be allowed de facto between the first trigger pulls and the last, I simply don't know nor would it be my place to comment.

It may sound like naïve blind faith or just a sales pitch but I do believe it will get sorted and that Maxs will be a truly top-notch event.

From what I have read on these forums and the MS rules, there still is an elemement of doubt and confusion as to exactly what is going to be allowed with regard to marker modes. It looks as though those that are going to Bitburg, will be the Guinee pigs as to how it will all work. Definately someone is going to be pi$$ed off over the weekend but I guess all anyone can do is try to have each fire mode availlable, I know this will be costly but until we get to Bitburg we will not know what is allowed.( unless clarification from the MS happens to reach us????)

Good to see you back Steve.
