On another note, I don't think experience, level i.e. Pro or Am, or indeed positions on the field should matter in this thread, it's one of opinion, I think Pebble is a class player, along with Chris Edwards, Ledz, Dunny, the list goes on, so how can you really pick an all time great, everyone has different strengths on a field, it comes down to opinion, who is the best back, mid, front, see where I'm going with this? How can you possibly pick an all time great Northern Player, really?

If you were to say who has had the most success then obviously Ledz, but if your asking Greatest Northern Player of all time....well....I don't think you can give one person that title, you can only give opinions and thoughts. As much as I hate to say it I thought Mak D had the potential to be something great, but, he is not, in fact I don't even think he plays anymore.

Just my opinion remember......

That's exactly why I picked Ledz yes, because he has played at the same level for longer but you cannot compare non-likes.


And yes, that's the way things do work Steve, it's called comparing likes; with the more extended, and who's won the most at higher level being prime determinants within that class.

It is not only impossible but also nonsensical to compare pro with am otherwise your ratoinale allows pros to be compared with novices which of course is even more ludicrous than your initial assertion.
Now wayne may well be the best Am player in the north, I got no idea but you cannot compare him with a pro until he plays pro .. end of !

Mind you Steve, I suppose if that's your opinion, you are of course no doubt entitled to it and I would never wanna call into question your right to hold it.

....by the way Steve, I reckon Siddy Brown is head and shoulders above David Beckham ........ not heard of Siddy Brown ???
