Lets face it... realistically how many times a week/month/year would you actually go there if - you had to pay say £20 walkon but it was byop. I could almost guarantee it wouldnt be anywhere near enough to make them consider it financially. The last walkon in central Scotland was a washout i think there was 10 people in total, about half if not more came down from Aberdeen. Why would anybody in their right mind bother with the hassle of trying to run/organise another one?

You are right Shaunyboy , the only way for places like that to get volumes of players is to develop teams locally. What Dave did up here is just that...create the appeal and the teams formed...but we could do with lots more all over Scotland.

u gotta be kiddin :D

i mean, i have 10 guys with the money to pay £20 each week to go and train, but the fact is the guy/retard who runs the place doesnt see that we are willing to pay £20 on anyday of the week to play for like 3hours, ive been down and seen it , and lets just say when they where open it sure didnt seeem like it , the field must have been empty most of the day. im actually really sad tbh because i (and most of my team)live like 5mins away from the field and the nearest one from that is wildwoods, but cos of our age we would find it realy hard to get down there on a regular basis. :(

ps. i heard some guy talk about 10 people turning up to the walkon... well if there are anymore walkons soon , near like paisley or glasgow, the can someone drop me an emal, as im never on this :D my email is : monkeyboyonfire1@yahoo.com

Hate to be a pain in the ass but dont be so bloody ridiculous.... if your that young that you wouldnt be able to get up to Inverness then im assuming your under 18... now if your under 18 how the hell can all 10 of you afford to pay £20 a week plus paint every single week???

And the other point... 10 people paying £20 haha.... working at this site i know we would take in atleast treble that in a normal three hour slot.... so the guy isnt a retard just really smart business man "its all about the money":)

Well it's a shame for all the local sup air players, but money's money. And from tomorrow I won't be staying up here for any length of time again, so I don't care :D

**** me Shaun 'youngsters' what is you turn next birthday, 40 ? ;)

Surely there are points when the site is empty no ? and if it was financially worth it to the owner it could be made available to actual ballers to train on ,assuming 'worth it' includes a decent profit on top of the costs for wages for yourselves and whatever overheads are incurred whilst keeping that rather large building open.

As im sure you are aware I fully understand the lack of commitment from the average Scottish baller and running a walk on would probably fail quickly, but it is unfortunate that with a facility like this no-one is even willing to try..

sorry u guys for startin. :(

When have the youngsters ever been that dedicated:rolleyes:

to monkeyboy.... how many times have you actually played on a sup'air field?

point one, we all live in ralston and most of us earn around £30 a week, (so £20 entrance and £10 per 1k paint)or can get the equivilant of our parents.

point two, i used to play sup air/airball/speedball when i was in america, and unfortunatly havnt had the chance to play much over here in scotland .:( so i am not some flaming n00b who decided to start a sup air team and not have a clue what im on about . :p

point 3- u said that you guys could turn like tripple that, but i mean, i went and i saw and i know that that field sits empty ALOT , cos my dad drives by it everyday when at work. :D i mean i understand this guy is a smart bussiness guy, but im talking like 7.00 am in the morning ... really any time when they hav no one in. just so we can get a little practice under our belt.

point 4 . good point ,im looking into public transport as an option to gettin to wildwoods, but assuming the games start at like 9.00 we would have to be up reeeaaalll early to get there , but i suppose it could happen.

point 5 -ive ran out of points but want to thank all of you guys with your time and help :)

okok i read all the comments again, and did shauny say he works there?!! could u put in a wee word?

also, is like £200 for 3hours of field time not that bad, i mean if someone offerd me £200 pounds for basictly nothing, cos my field was empty i would grab the chance(fat cat business man or not) :D
