What ****** me off is the we know this won't work. look at the UK for example. after a shooting at a school they ban pistols fully (i think). now look, most pistols used illegaly were already illegal (e.g. were bought in an arms dealer / crime boss). so it made no difference to the criminals

2009 is election year in germany.. they want to ban paintball for their votes .. but they will fail.. like every year :D there is no legal foundation and there will be no one.

the last court decision (2008) says it is unconstitutional to ban paintball ^^ .. no need to worry :)
for the moment: i don't think so! most of the german paintball dealers are working hard (behind the scenes). there's a big meeting with all dealers soon.

since all the years we had a lot of "tryings" but they failed. but this time it's close!

pistol ban

i think any weapon with a magazine or clip was banned though from what i can gather and that single shot pistols are allowed if kept at a club. i think that pistols because of there size ie can be concealed have been targeted so greatly but lets face it why should you want a gun at home ,and thats why shotguns are allowed at home with a licence and strong box to store them because they only have a couple of chambers at most and they tend to be quite long so its probably not allowed to saw the butt off :)
but back on german politicians theyre looking for scapegoats! and i bet the paintballers are a small bunch and unfortunatley easy pickings, like to see em try it with the rifle association in america "over my dead body"quote from charlton heston in response to outlaw guns in america but we ll have to watch and see

cheers for clearing that pistol thing up sundance i appreciate it :).
did you know that the british olimpic pistol team have to train OUTSIDE the UK.
anyway, i wonder when paintball will actually be seen not as a rambo bootcamp. maybe it will only happen if woodsball and scenario dissapear? robably not though. what germany needs a celebrity to raise publicity at the unfairness (nearly always works) - david beckham, or a german international football player. maybe a singer. i highly doubt that would happen though. you can always hope...?

A rapid fire 6 shot semi-automatic shotgun is the most lethal weapon you can legally own in the UK, requiring a firearms license over a regular shotgun license. Take that over a pistol for home defense anyday, but it is difficult to get such a license without good reason (home defense not being one of them:)).

I very much doubt they will ban paintball in Germany. Certainly in the UK they could not prove that it would be in the best interests of the public - there would have to be a direct cause and effect incident to push it through. With the handgun ban it was an easy sell just after a tradegy.

What a crock of YIT!

If children are educated correctly about the harmful things in life and learn under supervision with adults then they become a well balanced child.

If some jumped up politician wants to get on his band wagon then why aren't they sorting out the state of their football teams? Ban them for being rubbish and how it develops a Chavvy culture?

Na it is ridiculous I am sure if Leezo reads this he will agree with me that youth organisations of all descriptions help to develop a child into a better child.

I believe when you look at paintball, whether it is supair or recball you find that it actually breaks down barriers and cultural problems... people from all walks of life want to help each other learn in this sport.

In football (sorry if people think I am exploiting this sport) you are taught to kick a football, does this mean I should want to kick someone's head repeatedly?

Surely the Politically correct in this world need to take a step back and realise some people are just damn right insensitive, stupid and will always be nasty. That is human nature.

Surely the German politicans should look at what they are doing! Hell I have seen over 50 British Soldiers play paintball after 7months in Iraq and then have a BBQ fuelled with copious amounts of alcohol. Non of them were fighting or falling out, that will be because they had had a good time.

Scheiße!

As for that nonsense about kids being inspired by paintball, airsoft and video games to commit violent acts, total rubbish. The way such things influence people is clearly down to the person themselves, unless whatever it is is intended to trick people into being violent. And I don't see many video games developers having the time to put subliminal messaging in their games...
