'Least it'll stop those German teams kicking ass at the Millenniums.

Seriously though, it's yet another example of our civil liberties being taken from us. I know where my vote will be next election...

Really? I have no idea where my vote would be, which party can you name that does not intend to further curtail our civil liberties?

Not only paintball, they are also pushing through legislation to ban "violent" video games. TBH, paintball has always been treated with suspicion by the German authorities, probably something to do with their national guilt at the atrocities they as a nation have wreaked on the world.

theres the english version from the same website, seems like its punishment to all German paintballers for something one kid does.
During the debate over Tim K., his passion for paintball was much-discussed. But it was soft-air guns that were found in his bedroom. They can also be used to shoot paint-filled pellets, but they are far more similar to actual weapons than paint guns.
There we are then!

Labour are pushing their luck enough as it is. Irrational steps are simply going to put more nails into their coffin.

Just proves that politicians really have no idea what goes on in the world. Can anyone explain the logic that banning paintball would prevent school shootings?
nobody can! BUT for the moment, we've big problems. on every big website (newspaper etc.) is paintball the no1 topic. at every news on tv, paintball is no1.

some of them are not to bad with paintball at all. but i think the politicans didn't care about the fact in the media. they didn't care that we've a big community with leagues (over 200 teams) and a big market.

they want to show the people "look, we're doing something!"
and the best thing: they'll try to ban paintball/gotcha, but they want to keep "normal" guns at home...

let's see what will happen...

2009 is election year in germany.. they want to ban paintball for their votes .. but they will fail.. like every year :D there is no legal foundation and there will be no one.

the last court decision (2008) says it is unconstitutional to ban paintball ^^ .. no need to worry :)
