Paintball is in a grey area and is likely to remain there - however, there is a new raft of airgun and replica legislation coming that we may or may not get caught up in.

Anyone who plays airsoft better enjoy it while they can...

If "they" are targeting all other types of "girly guns", then i'll bet you, that we will soon come under the scrutiny of the powers that be:(
When that happens it will be a dark day for paintball,
best case scenario, we'll just have to get licenses for our guns, worst case scenario, just ask the sports gun associations !
Knee jerk reaction..............ban everything ! ! !

Airguns will go on ticket next year - as far as we know Paintball guns are not currently going to fall under that legislation, but that could easily change.

I actually agree with you there Mr Carrot, Just recently we were told via a friend of a group of local lads that had bought cheap guns and were using them in the local woods, where people walk their dogs etc etc. He then went on say that they were boasting about a drive-by that they did on a local pub:confused:
I know licenses won't stop twats like this (who have never actually played paintball i might add) but it may help us to maintain the fact that we are responsible citizens where as they are criminal scum.
Now my point being that if a criminal act like this occurs and happens to shoot out the eyesight of a classroom full of 7 year olds and that makes front page news and has the following backlash against us. 15bps+, ramping, fully auto, whatever you want to label it as, will be the death of our sport.
You can almost see the news of the world headlines.
"30 children blinded in paintball machine gun frenzy", now before you start having a go at me, i know that would never happen, but one day there will be a major public incedant and when it happens we will be hung drawn and quartered, because we are running so close to the literal interpretation of current gun laws

Licensing cost the government large amounts of money..... its easier for them to ban or leave as is (maybe make a new legislation that makes no difference, but they look like they are doing something.) I would imagine they will leave paintball alone.

Edit: However they could change markers to the airgun category fairly easily. So only licenced shops are allowed to sell. Have to be 18 or over to buy etc...
