You forget the french ;)

We will have strong teams this year, better than last year I hope.

With, Worms and Enemy jumping in Pro, you can add Tonton, Hellwood and Camp Tiger

And Scalp, Kaotiks, Vision, Doriane, Jaguar and some others that I forget in Amateur.

I think the french pool is almost equal to the uk one.

So we will see which country will be the better :)

Thanks for the words - we arent the sandbaggers that we could be - that would be totally against what we are trying to achieve!!

If I see you in portugal (or germany) perhaps we can talk some more and a little more about how we could make the step.

As with all teams there are more behind the scenes goings on than meet the eye - but we are getting there and have recently taken on a great young guy who is going to do great things I'm sure!!!

Onwards and upwards - work work work then reap the rewards!!!

Thats the plan!!

See you around

Show me the money

As ever, coming in from the "What the f*** does he know" angle:

As somebody mentioned (Sorry cant remember who) that there was a lot more money suporting the US game, this is undoubtedly true. How many of the top UK teams are sponsored to the point where trianing twice a week is possible? Compared to US. I may be wrong, but I don't think it's that many.

As far as I can tell ALL of the paint manufacturers are US based, and so that is naturally where all the sponsorship etc is (this is not intended as a criticism btw I appreciate that paint sponsorship is not pure philanthropy and the greater number of ballers in the US makes it more viable to sponsor a US team).

As far as I am aware as sponsorship deals go my team (which is in fact a realtively lowly, novice team from a University) has one of the best sponsorship deals arround (Eternal thankyous to Hatts and Gillie at 6E). So that would make it very difficult for UK teams to practice and afford to enter all the milenium tournaments and play the with the best.

Just as a question to Robbo though: why did the UK put such a (relatively) week side in for the Nations cup?

But then again I could be wrong

Hey Fab, I have not forgotten the French, in fact, I think they are equal if not a little in front of us Brits.
I am afraid I don't know much about the depth of the Am scene in France but of the Am teams I have seen, the French top Am teams are I think, slightly better than our own.
As for the likes of the pros such as Ton Tons and Co ?
Certainly the Ton Tons can be directly equated to Shockwave which pretty much leaves the rest of your pro teams, both in depth and quality in front of our line-up.
So, it's not that I forgot the French, it's just that I hate them and did not want to give them any credit :)

From what I can remember, most of the top players from over here did not take it seriously enough or were trying to concentrate on the tournament itself (Lisbon, Portugal).
It would seem as though the other countries did take it seriously which left us lot looking a bit foolish.
But it also interestingly goes to show something, the Swedes won the thing against a top line up of Yanks, bearing in mind we have already mentioned the relative lack in quality of the Euro teams as against the Yanks, it shows that a single European country can pick a team that will not only contest with the Top Yanks but also beat their ass into next week.
On that note, us Euros should be forever grateful to the Swedes for sticking it up the Yanks.
I for one never doubted we (Brits) could do a similar thing but .......hmmmm, there's always a but :)

Yo Magued, damn starting trouble huh? well egyptian lover I will have to agree with you somewhat Avalanche started to come over to europe 3 years ago and the first tourney we played over there was Mayhem and i did notice that alot of the teams were still playing real passive! but as the years have gone by teams over there are defiantly getting better(PLEASE WORK ON YOUR BASEBALL SLIDING PEOPLE!) and NO BLIND SHOOTING!!!!..... Other than the Rushers,Shockwave uk and a couple of others and no disrespect to any of the UK teams it seems that the teams over there have gotten behind the times a little bit.Magued is right in the fact the teams over in his neck of the woods are playing much more aggresive and sometimes kinda stupid! but hey long is everyone is having a good time who gives a sh#t!

That's it!!!!
I always go in with an American football slide, which has the following result usually: A kaputt bunker, a flattened opponent, two dead refs, irrigation ditches in the field and, if present, a collapsed section of bleachers/stands.
