Im really bored today so I will try to piss off some people just beacuse its fun.

I see alot of postings here about the UK paintball scene, but I really cant see what all the fuzz is about.
Uk paintball is with a few exceptions behind Usa, France and Scandinavia. Way behind.

If it wasnt for Shockwave, Rushers and sometimes Banzai. What do you guys really have? You used to have alot of good teams but they are over the hill big time.

In Scandinavia we have had 4 events that have had over 35 teams each within the last month!
Teams like NBK-Ugly Duklings- Powertrip-Joy-Twillight-Hardcore-brutal Deluxe etc etc is playing against each other all the time.
If I compare the Scandinavian amatuer teams with the Uk teams its not even close. If you dont belive me just check out last years results in the amatuer division.

Even when its just a practice day its packed. ( We went for a indoor field for practice and it was 15 teams there )

The European challenge to the US will not come from UK it will be Scandinavia for sure!

Magued Joy division ( sponsored by the UK`s best WDP :) )

Feedback please!!

Totally agree.

No quarrel with you good sir knight!

However, tell me....how much woodland do you boys play, is it mostly concept? what do your punters play on? how few and far between are your practice fields, and what's the social perception of Paintball as a sport in your respective nations?

The trouble is that everyone in the UK is so up there own ass. When you first start out in the UK no one wants to help you, let alone even talk to you. I had to work so hard to prove myself, although I'm sure most would have just given up.

One issue is the lack of Brit teams travelling to Europe to play away legs of the Millennium Series. Most of the pros do, and some of the am's. Where are the rest of you:confused: I have alot of respect for the novice team Thunder. They have got there act together and venturing out into European paintball, we need more teams like this.

Another point i'd like to make is that there isn't enough competition in the UK. 90% of people I know only go to paintball events for the social aspcet:rolleyes: This must be causing huge damage when a team would rather have fun, than push to be the best they can be. Personally i'm having alot more fun if were walking fools in 2mins. I don't have a problem with people just playing paintball because they love it, but we do need a more competitive attitude.

I watched that PUSH video the other day at Beakers flat. I think it was Dave Spittle who said "Come on guys, were here to win this tournament not get beaten in by a bunch of Yanks" If we were to change the Yank part for Northerners, or Cockneys maybe we'd start getting somewhere.

Were never going to be the best while you spend all day talking smack to each other. Get your finger out your ass and go win something.

I'm now going to hide under my desk while everybody throws insults at me:(

I have noticed that a lot of teams don't seem to have an "established core" in this country.

It's all very well having a huge squad to pick from for the next tourney, or even draft people in from other teams, but you'll never learn to gel as a team with your own playing styles by doing this. You may as well just be getting a scratch team together each time you play!

This aint a solo sport, you need to work as a team before you can start spanking some ass!!

Oh no....

I can't believe that you are giving out praise to Beaker... The only reason the rest of his team follow him to tournies is that they want to laugh at him when he gets shot (Did I hear someone say "Squeal Piggy!"??).

The only reason they go to European tournies is that they have been banned from most of the pubs near the UK ones and need places to drink that are further afield than the pissed off bouncers can get to.

Honestly, next thing you'll be accusing him of having a decent marker and mad skillz...

*grin*

We dont play wood at all.
Its still the main way to play for rentals but no team play woods here. And we have alot of wood.
Even the rental sites here in Sweden is moving more to concept fields.

the distance between the teams and fileds is much bigger than in UK. We will drive 8 hours for a practice day almost every week.

And concept for rentals makes the sport grow and new people get a feel of what its all about.

Duncster has got a good point. Why are UK ballers so god damn lazy:confused: Maybe if you didn't all go down the pub the night before an event and get smashed out of your faces you might be able to get up on time:eek: If paintball teams were run like football teams, ie you have to compete for your place maybe you would think before getting drunk:(

Brits are all to happy to just "show up and play". Then when you loose again and walk away empty handed you get all upset and pissy. You notice it always the same teams that win local tournaments. They don't do alot diffrent, but it makes the world of diffrence at the local level:cool:

Wookie - I don't need to defend Beaker or his team, i'm sure he's big enough to look after himself. However what i'd like you to do is look at where Thunder finish in the Millennium Series at the end of this season. I'll put money on it they have a higher finish than last years 7th.

I'm sure alot of people will get upset by my comments. Well good I hope it pisses you off royal. Maybe you'll turn that anger of yours into a winning team. Some how I doubt it tough:(
