Solid brawl, gentlemen, but an easy call to make.

Before making the announcement I'd like to handle a bit of Fight Club business. (Build the suspense and all)
1--Gyro, shut up. Among the Stickies whichever thread has been posted to most recently--that one is on top.
2--Mark, consequences in that you have to able to make a coherent, rational argument in defense of your views and risk being declared the loser instead of having a free hand to simply call people names when you feel like it. Smacktalk and PBN are open 24/7. P8ntballer has always strived to be different, more intelligent, and given the quality and quantity of some posters that's damned difficult. This way mods don't have to "abuse their power" trying to maintain some order and forum members have actual recourse to settle disputes.
3--Liz, I agree but I ain't no miracle worker.
4--Fred (and everyone) If you wish to comment on an ongoing or past fight start a Fight Club comments thread but don't post directly into the Fight Club thread.

Okay--Fight 1. Well done to you both. Kudos to Collier for attempts at creativity but I found SuperFly's jokes, on the whole, to be funnier even tho many were derivative. However, the statement to be resolved was whether SuperFly was dimmer than a bulbless lamp. And since either Supa instigated the change or was talked into it outside the parameters of the Fight Club rules I have no choice but to declare Collier the winner.

That I found you funnier in no way settles the disputed point in your favor. The fact you were manuevered or chose on your own to not address the point of contention and have been unable or unwilling all along to follow the simplest of rules forced me against my kinder nature (Naw, I'm lying, I don't have a kinder nature) to vote against you. Round 1 reply to Fordwhatever

Fight Two: Fordwhatever vs. TFP; How much the fun police sucks. Fordwhatever will open Round 1 whenever he can pucker up the courage. 10 rounds--though I don't expect it to go the distance.

The bold quote above is a reminder of what this fight is supposed to be about since one of the combatants appears totally clueless. Fordwhatever.

Hint: a half-witted, poorly spelled insult that never gets closer than spitting distance to the topic you proposed is a sad example of proud English manhood. (Am generously giving you the benefit of the doubt on the manhood part.)

While I am sure you and the nurse from National Health who helped you type that gibberish both got a giggle before she had to change your nappy let me try to explain for you what you need to try to do.
Start by sounding out the big words, you know, hooked on phonics. Good.
Now first define your subject--Is it all TFP or just me?
And describing what your fevered imagination would like to suck isn't the same thing as offering a reason why TFP suck.
As to the last part I will give you credit for a claim TFP are chosen on the basis of being egotistical.

If the ability to communicate effectively in written words and a willingness to stand behind what you say is egotistical then I'm it. If, on the other hand, egotistical might be better defined as ignorantly spewing childish invective every time you don't get your way or feel bad about yourself then maybe you're the one who is egotistical.

I didn't go after you, you came after me. You issued a challenge, I accepted and let you choose the topic.

Now you want to bail with some tiny scrap of your presumed dignity still intact. Go for it. Walk away cause it got rougher than you could handle. While you're walking think on this for a minute--if somebody other than a friend of yours had posted the same about you with no provocation you would have been whining to TFP to do something about it. We get pm's and emails like that all the time. Yet somehow you figure you get a free pass to dish it out?
How many forums would have tossed you for the same? Plenty.

Clearly I have overestimated the forum membership. Most of you are apparently no different from the whiney little look-at-me bitches you see on PB fields around the world. Fight Club is closed, you ain't got the sack for it.

Right, since I shut down Fight Club I've received a number of pm's and emails suggesting it's more of generational or cultural thing and I'm misjudging the situation. While I concede that's always possible I ain't seeing it.
Even so it's plain I'm not the right member of TFP to be running Fight Club if it continues. So, if y'all (those who want it to stay) can talk some other member of TFP into running it I've no objection to re-opening Fight Club.
