They don't tell the whole story either...how many UK migrants are working in the middle east, Africa etc.? Where do you think their money ends up?chrismrgn said:Soz that was supposed to me "may not" lol
You may dissagree with that point, but the facts in the post dont lie...
Yea that is true, and to some extent i think that it is good that there is a large amount of money going out of the country, as it acts like aid in many cases, and good Ol' Tony aint keen on handing that out!duffistuta said:They don't tell the whole story either...how many UK migrants are working in the middle east, Africa etc.? But that is trifling when you compare British businesses which operate in the developing world and take out vast sums of money to give to shareholders at home, whilst the locals work in sweatshop conditions and see their resources going abroad.
It is a complex, difficult situation, morally and economically, but threads like this do their best to ignore that fact and get on with slamming migrants without bothering to look at the underlying reasons for migrancy or the basic inequalities in the relationship between the developed and developing worlds.

Britain has always attracted migrants - many of us on here are from Scandinavian/Irish/French/Italian descent...this current situation is no different and is the way of the world. National identities fluctuate - within 20 years I expect the US will have more Spanish speakers than English ones, there will be a president whose native language is Spanish in my lifetime, I guarantee it.mikey601 said:Im not one to slam migrants but the only issue i have with the uk immigration is the screening process, have they even got one!
Slowly watching area's like burton-upon-trent, parts of birmingham, parts of london, well i could carry on but i wont, watching those place slowly get swamped, i find it a shame.
Tom said before lets put the Great back in Great Britain, Great Britain is long gone

Some people find it a frightening prospect, seeing so many non-white faces...I imagine the people of South Africa were pretty scared when all those whites turned up, stole their country and turned them into glorified slaves. They had a reason to be scared...I don't think we do.
You seem to equate 'depreciate' with 'having more foreigners here', or am I missing something?mikey601 said:I wouldn't say scared, but seeing your country depreciate because the UK is certainly not getting better (no wait kids dont eat junk food in schools no more, cant forget that one ) I'm not saying this is directly the result of migrants. Like you said you can see a president of the US whose native language is Spanish, I'd take that bet. I think in 20, 30 years time the UK will be worse of than it is now unless something is changed
