hi all,

i found me a custom part thats superior apprently to the stock part, also guarentee for life. half the price of a the kit. thats what i will prob end up going for.

I know all the comments etc like £30 for servicing a £600 marker etc etc point taken. when you dont know whats wrong with it.

However when you know the fault is a 3-4mm piece of rubber thats all thats wrong with it then well you can see why I am Pi$$ed
so let me understand

you are gonig to pay £10 for a replacement rubber washer at worst, or at best the whole reg piston.

and you are getting a "superior" part, but also one that will invalidate any warranty you have on the marker with planet.

also, for your £10, you arent getting the LPR piston, springs, belleville washers and orings that you get in the planet kit that costs £18.99?

wow. thats AMAZING logic! i salute you :p

piston

well I buy the kit all the extra thats i dont need, and then same thing happens 6 months later then.... what.

as opposed to a liftime guarranteed part that shouldnt break period why because its better made hence the guarrantee.

I would rather pay once and forget about it.

Anyway the point of this thread was not about what other people would do but rather if someone would know about a solution that does NOT involve buying kit.

There is a whole argument why people should or shouldnt buy ion because of the extra parts needed to get it to tourney spec ask anyone!!

Dont get me wrong people the ego is a great bit of kit.

Spares of any nature are the most important kit you need

This part is a consumable item, all markers have this and they wear out in every one, that's why they are sold as spares. I would replace any o-ring that you've removed as well.

if a piston is made, then parts can be made by someone else. hence why you get custom parts for just about anything... cars markers included.

My question was does anyone know of an alternative replacement washer for the ego piston reg?

I already know the solution cough up 20quid. but i am looking for an alternative.

Incidently the new 07 pistons the washers are sealed onto the piston. the older style piston like i have, the washer is moveable ie you can easily take it out and put it back in.

There must be someone who has tried this?
Fool:rolleyes:

Why not give the marker a service with the rest of the spares kit and have it shooting nice and purdy?

how long should a reg piston / seal last?

how long should a reg piston / seal last?,

hi guys i got me a ego piston..

question asked here is how long should they last? I am talking about the hpr reg and lpr reg. Which one is likely to go? and as i only shoot 2000-3000 paintballs a month I dont think thats high compared to tournie guys?

I have stripped and cleaned the ego throughly and i cannt see any wear and tear at all on the o rings.

Its just this seal on the piston that has failed and well when i say failed it was in pieces when i got it home from the last time i played.

Just checking in case i hve a setting wrong that might have caused it to fail?

If anyone else has had this bit it kit go on them what were the cirucmstances?

you might have screwed your reg adjuster screw in too far for example.
Might just have got a "bad egg".

For future reference, with your marker fully degassed, screw the reg adjuster all the way out, then 3.5 turns back IN to set it before adding air.

Dont ever screw it all the way in , especialy with air, or you risk damaging the piston seat.

yep

yep i think that what i did,

I screwed it all the way in with air on. To try and get the velocity down. Guessing that messing things up even more.

I didnt know you were not ment to do that. It always worked on my tippmann.;)

trouble is i wont know what caused the velocity spikes until i fit my new piston.:)

Just hope its not something else.
