Main (only) cause of veolcity spikes on EGOs is 99% the HPR reg seal

Only other reason might be something to do with teh Orings on the internal LPR assembly (not the protruding part under the barrel, but the internal LPR body).

I bought a full service kit a couple months back for my ego, changed every o'ring and parts that came with the kit. Cleaned the marker inside out, lubed and oiled, shoots like new again. Money well spent.

hpr seal gone again

lads anyone got any ideas what could be causing my hpr seal on my piston to go.

Its gone again within 3 months. So getting a new piston kit again. :(
At my last game i saw guys busy playing around with their velocity screws (ego 05) and none of them had ever replaced a piston! Now i am getting to stage where by i just dont want to touch the velocity screw for fear of breaking the seal again. The marker is shooting hot and to get the velocity down means ajusting it... I think i am scewing it in too far but its the only way for the fps to get down.

I have checked the orings lpr seal etc and just cannt seem to find anything wrong at all or any signs of wear and tear.

I am using a tri label 4500 bottle most cases running at 3000 so dont know if this might be causing it as my old aluminum bottle didnt cuase me any grief could it be this?

Any advice please let me know.

When you say that your Inline Regulator piston seal has gone twice in 3 months, was the second instance on an Eclipse Inline Regulator Piston or an aftermarket Piston such as BUMP's?

If it is that you purchased an Eclipse Multi Reg Spares Kit when you had the initial problem, had an issue with the reg piston from that kit and have the original proof of purchase, then i will gladly send you another inline regulator piston under warranty.

Sound fair to you?

tx for comms

Hi Nicky,

Tx for the comms. Actually the piston was a genuine planet piston and admittedly (old style) not the new design. I didn’t source it from planet. I got from another player who had a full spares kit and no need for it. He just sold me the piston and it was new.

Your offer on replacement of proof of receipt is very much appreciated though. Hopefully I wont have to take you up on your offer and the NEW reg kit I have ordered will take care of it.

As you are a serious ego tech can you advise me if it’s possible to damage the piston by trying to lower the velocity by over tightening the velocity screw? If it is possible, then would you say like never over tighten by more than say 8 turns in?, just a guess , as the manual stats 3.5turns to start with. So 3 more turns should bring the velocity way down to 240fps?

Just want to check that I am working within the correct guidelines of what the marker should be operated at.
