I deal with people using narcotics all the time and frankly, if the team I was playing was doing this, I'd chalk one up in the win column. As far as the performance enhancing drugs, I do not think that the length of the games or the distance a person has to move would be great enough that these drugs would have much effect even if abused. They certainly would have less effect than the quantum leaps in technology being made, so I think drug testing would be costly and unjustified. After all, we are the ones who would be paying for it and I'd rather not. I certainly agree that we do not want to give the impression that ballers are druggies or drug enhanced cheaters, but I think this will best be done by policing ourselves so that we present a positive image and attitude. Drug-testing at this stage would suggest that we need testing, and I don't think there is evidence that we do.
