Hate KillerOnion, Phillip and Roo or drop-forwards?

drop fowards... DO THEY ROCK OR WHAT?!

ok guys if you're reading this and you happen to own a drop forward, put your wang away and return that laminated poster of the 'pros' to your top draw.

You guys must seriously SUCK! How dare you experiment with different equipment in order to discover the delights of your own perfect set-up before consulting the omniscient Pro playaz that apparently write the rules on what everybody must or must not own.
You are serious GOOBERS.

And if youve got a mech marker you might as well hang yourself.
Dave, I don't think Fi$h's attitude in this is representative of the vast majority of pros as most of the pros I know would always help out anybody who may need it.

The problem arises when some arrogant arses masquerading as pros large it up and people then find fertile ground in which to plant the seeds of 'pro' arrogance and indifference.
For the most part Dave, it's just not there but is a convenient device for other, less talented people, to exploit.

All my guys on Nexus invariably took time to help others, from Nicky T's never ending technical advice to Tommy Pemberton's advice on techniques.
It's totally unfair to tar all pros with this brush.

You Numpty !
And i'm being polite there !
Ok some people may not be aware of the pro's and con's off the drop foreward, but what gives you the right to bleat off like your god's gift to paintballing, eh Numptyboy?

Personally i use a drop but before you all slate me here, i'll explain that proportionally i have short arms, not spastic short but just to short to use a standard set up. i borrowed three different guns last weekend and couldn't use any of them because the reach was simply too long. So what do i do there then numptyboy? give up and go home or use a drop?
If i'm happy with my drop then what's it to you? If i leave my elbow sticking out then it makes your life easier ! So again, what's the problem Numptyboy?

Ok i know i'm not the greatest player, Nexus are never gonna have me on the team, but if i have to develop an ars*hole attitude like yours then i don't want too either !
(i wasn't implying nexus are ars*'s just merely that i don't have that eliteist greater than you attitude of some "all-star paintballers"

Have a nice day and keep your drunken rants for your own sad little world:cool:

Before Robbo comes back on me there, i've met a lot of pro players and in the main respect most of them, but as with every sport i've been involved with, occasionally you get someone like fi$h who tars all pro ballers with that head up there own ar*e attitude that makes us criticise them rather than go "Oooo your helpful"
Big Respect to nexus who have always been helpful in my book anyway.
later;)

Lovely thread this. Precisely what we need more of. An opinion offered in strong terms that rouses responses, some equally strong. All good and as it carries on proves to be more widely informative and thoughtful, even better.
The thing to keep in mind is enjoy the opportunity to vent a bit, express yourself and don't take it too seriously. And in the moment when you are prepared to judge a person on the basis of a post or two in a forum reflect on the prospect of someone else doing the same to you--then act accordingly.

And if everybody and their brother's uncle knows what a waste a drop forward is why do the marker companies persist in selling most of their low end and midrange guns with some sort of drop included? :)

Nobody has arms that short buddy - you're probably just electing the wrong body position for the set up ;)

If you look at how Pros play, you'll notice they don't play with their shoulders square on the bunker... which is what makes all the difference.

Push your inside shoulder forward and pull the outside shoulder back.... but only move the shoulders... your stance should not change.

Like this:

Do that, and you'll suddenly find your arms are long enough for even the longest set up ;)

It doesn't help anyone just saying they should get rid of their drop... if you don't tell them also how to change their body position in correlation to the gun, in order to get the benefits of the long set up :)

The problem with this thread is, the content of what our friend Fi$h is bleating on about is in my opinion quite correct (even though Fi$h didn't come up with it) but we run the danger here of ignoring the message because of the messenger, and understandably so.

If you reduce the act of firing the marker down to it's component parts coupled with an understanding of the mechanics of firing it, drop forwards hinder the process of staying tight and shooting accurately.
Of course you can see players using one but this in no way validates its use, it merely tells us people use it.
Whether by fad or 'coolness' factors, it matters not in my opinion as to why people use them, all I know is you can play more effectively by using the standard set up instead of looking like a contorted mish-mash of arms and legs.

Generally speaking, as in most things, what looks good is good and in this case, it just don't look good.

Why does michael schumacher have a custom made seat?
Answer -because his arse fits it !

If a drop suits and fits you then use it, if it doesn't or your a "pro", then don't use one,..........it's not hard !
It's whatever "you" need to get the best performance from "yourself" and "your equipment", just because "no drop" is the pro choice does that mean it has to be the choice for everyone?
Nah i didn't think so either.
