Domestic Pro League hits tha UK

By extending this format across the levels from novice through to pro ten it would still be possible to work your way up to the pro division. This format will promote a style of play that has been lacking in british paintball. It is a great shame that only the few pro teams will be allowed to experience this. When the league moves into its 2nd or 3rd year how will the new teams fare against the pro teams that have been playing this format for more time? With no other league offering this format how will the teams that want to succeed and challenge the established teams be able to gain the relevant experience?

So although it may not be rocket science i am still a little unsure of how these problems will be adressed?

I truly believed that this was an opportunity to push the standard of play higher by allowing every team the opportunity to play a style of paintball that would promote aggressive and innovative games. The format held so much for so many, looks like the majority of brit ballers have missed out again.

How long will it be before the organisers realise that we need a new format across the levels?
Hermitt - c'mon mate

How is that going to help Britball?

A change of direction and attitude to training would make the difference to the majority of teams - not what format they play come Sunday and tourney time

This league gives the best we have a chance to test their mettle against others of similar ability/outlook/commitment etc

I will predict a league dominated by a few teams however as amongst those teams that have been selected there are a few weak teams (imho). Not weak in terms of what we have to offer internally but certainly when it comes to internationally wheras the top of the league will have proven international contenders.

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
If paintball goes this way then the British scene will be poo. Why? Simple no one will be able to afford to play!

Teams moan now about having to pay for paint when they are buying 15 cases for an event, imagine what you will all be like when the amount of paint goes up to 30+ cases!

I quote tou again

The format is quick turn around 7 man

Its quick turn around, yes, but 7 man still.

I dont think it will be a leap of astronomical proportions for teams that get promoted to it.

The format is for the spectators benefit - it won't promote a style of play any different to the norm. It will promote a style of pit area management for sure, but that will be about the extent of the difference I think you will find.

WE ALL WANT TO PLAY AN XBALL STYLE FORMAT!!!!!

I can't wait its gonna be awesome!!
Mark think Hermit wants to play Xball buddy!

Mind you that will all change when the paint bills come rolling in. How many boxes did Joy do at Campiagn last year? 60 in one event. How many did Nexus do when they came 3rd in Oslo? 78!

And teams now want to play with the big boys!

I agree with you on the point of training. However, the style of play will become faster and far more aggressive with teams playing the same field a number of times and going against te same team 5 times. When the wanna be teams make the step up they will be playing against teams that are familiar with style of play this format will promote. It will be harder for them to make that step up.

On another note, the style of play that this league will promote is an excellent way of moving British paintball forward. Fast aggressive games on familiar fields will only help. It is a reat shame that only pros will be able to take advantage of this, when it will clearly benefit teams of all levels that want to take the sport more seriously. This argument is boosted by jealousy, but tat doesnot make it any less valid. We need an attitude in British paintball that recognises the importance of all levels of the game and attempts to increase the ability at every level. A big change was needed to the way we play events and i had hoped that this would be the answer.
