Does anyone actually work out?

I agree with everything that has been said here, including the lager lifts (Guiness, anyone?). I happen to have an all encompassing work out routine. Sprints, long distance running, push-ups, sit-ups, weights, blah, blah, blah. So yeah, it helps me when playing my games into not getting tired and being able to outlast Joe Fatty McFat-cakes. Granted, I could not outplay any professional team. I guess fitness can only take you so far, but ability is what will ultimately win a game. I think Robbo mentioned that this will be a factor of games in the future. I agree, if you get 10 physical specimens that work like clockwork they will monkey stomp any team. I guess we'll see in a few years.

No Problemo Mr Big, there's no way I would have wanted another one of those homo-related posts referring to little ol me.

Hmmm

I would have to say drinking beer, eating fried food, and watching t.v. are all work outs that I take part in. I also like to watch my front players run while I sit back and yell and spray paint. Then after the other team thinks I don't move, I haul ass and punk them. Fitness has its advantages to an extent, but like Robbo said you have to have the skills in order to win:D

Now let's go have a pint or 5.

What a refreshing sight to have someone with a little bit of self-esteem on this board. We are all glad that you love yourself, but does your swelled head keep you from playing tight? :D

Don't kill me, remember your resolution! :)

LOL, dammit, I knew that bloody new year's resolution would return to haunt me.
Anyway, and there was me thinking I might even learn a little humility in the coming year.......takes time to change years of self-delusion...but then again WTF, I like being a big head, makes life more interesting :)

I would like to add that it is very difficult to define fitness. A marathon runner will not be winded after doing ten laps around a 10 man field, but he is likely to be gasping after a short series of sprints. If, on the other hand, you''re able to do the 100 meters faster than Ben Johnson, there's a good chance you won't even survive a marathon.
I'd say that soccer players might have the sort of stamina you'd want in a baller. The abillity to be active over an period of time, combined with short bursts of increased activity.

That's why when I run I do about a 1-2minute sprint in the beggining and end. Helps me with endurance throught the run. Trust me 20 minutes into a run and braking out a 2 mins sprint will help in the long run!
