To an extent yes. If i go out with all the latest dye gear on etc then I will generally feel better and feel more intimaditing that I would be if i went out with 1998s jt jersey on and a pair of army trousers and pods in my pockets.

So I believe the better you look means the better you will feel about yourself which means your confidence will by high which then means you will play better on the field...

but the real question is if E=Mc2 where do jelly babies come from?

I think the style factor comes in most during tournaments. It may be just a psychogical boost you get from feeling prepared but every little thing helps. The intimidation factor usually only comes into play in local events or against teams who aren't too experienced.

With the increased popularity of jerseys and such, I've found I like dressing down for practice and pickup games. I played most of the summer in a Tshirt, while most others were in jerseys. If anything, I think I played better because I was more relaxed and felt more comfortable (I'm a jeans and Tshirt kinda guy) :D.

In the end, it's whatever works for you. If a new jersey or the latest stylin' headgear makes you feel a little more confident, a little more aggressive - that can be the difference between a good day and a great day.

Gimme a break. Anybody hung up on dressin' up or havin' the blingingest marker isn't gonna be any more confident or aggressive cus they's hung up on tryin' to look the part cus they don't really believe they fill the bill without it.
And if you need to intimidate Rooks or near Newbs to feel good about your chances . . .
