Aight has a point.

BUT it doesn't bother me. I'm a girl playin pb, and there are men everywhere, its just part of the fun!

Girls are gonna make there way to the top, not just yet, but in the near future. I'm not sure if there are lady Pro's yet? (Soz if you are ) but there are loads of Ams. Look at Fat Lady's Charms - a fantastic team and they've only been around 2 years.

Gentlemen watch this space!

It is harder for girls, but thats the same with every sport (except for netball - but what a silly game! no offense ) That's life. Perhaps a few hundred years down the road, the tables may have turned? Who cares, no one would be around. - i Hope

As for advertisin in mags, sex does sell! So lets see the lads in smalls! Seriously, mags aren't everything its what you do as a player that counts, and be seen kicking ass! Including the girlies

I dont know if you are in the UK, however there was a TV advert on advertising of all things bubble bath. In ths said advert paolo dicanio wanders in and starts undressing whilst a woman drools into her bath. Was there an outcry by the male opoulation shouting 'thats not right we enjoy our bubble baths'. err NOPE!

Now imagine a man having a bubble bath and someone like kylie, or britney spears wanders in and gets topless. 1st Woohooooo. 2nd I know the complaints would flood into the ASA.

Simple fact is in advertising, sex is the best way to sell an item. Closely followed by humour.

Now to get onto the equality kick...
How many men can take a sick day stating 'mens problems'?
How many woman would acuse there spouse/boyfriend/husband of having an affair if they turned around and said 'I have a headache'?
How many single fathers on income support do you hear about?
How many Male rape cases have you heard of this year?
Woman slaps a mans backside, he laughs, man does it back to woman, he is done for sexual harrasement. (I know this as I have had my backside smacked a few times, and enjoyed it )


Men are now in the minority because they can not stand up for their rights because when they do they get laughed at.

I am not a sexist, racist or any other fool. I am an
Equalityist simple as that. And at this moment in time men are on the short straw.


Now I am not even gonna say rant over because this is simply my opinion.

And here's another female player putting in her pennys worth - I'm not offended by these adverts at all. Somewhat amused that men might be more inclined to buy a product 'cause some model is flashing lots of skin in the ad for it though!
There are many more important things that can put women off playing paintball, like getting trousers cut to fit them properly or having more than 1 portaloo between 200 players, or having to put up with guys who think that only cute "chicks" should play & have no place for not particularly attractive female players. You can still hear the occasions piss-take when someone gets shot out by a female baller or a team gets beaten by an all-girl team, and a girl has to be at least 50% better than a guy to get on many teams. I even know of one baller guy who thought his girlfriend should stop playing 'cause it "wasn't right" that she would get welts on her precious girly body!

BUT, and this is a big but, things have improved beyond all recognition over the last 10 years or so for women in paintball. At least most male players now recognise that it is possible for women to play and don't think they should be banned, and many guys will actually respect a girl with skills rather than implying she's a freak of some kind.

Oh, and regarding having half-naked male ballers to sell clothing & kit to female players - no thanks. I've seen too many players changing after a day's play to think I would find your typical baller much of a turn-on

i apologise for my first post Aight, it was a little bolshy and i was in a bad mood from summat else...my apologies

however my point does still stand. Women do not play paintball as much as men. they are starting too but they still do not play as much. So the magazine must aim towards it's target market and the advertisers must also aim towards their target market. This target market is male between the ages that rancid says and who all think with the thing between their legs that is what makes the companies money, sexy women scantily clad....

Some good comments from all quarters once we got past the speeling isheews (yeah.. it's a joke!)

We can say pictures of scanty women have no place in PGI, sure. But the simple fact is that, as many have pointed out, sex sells. Men will look twice at an advert carrying an attractive woman. Personally I think women would like twice too, even if to pass negative comment, but the point is both sexes will look.

In my humble opinion I think most people, male and female, that enter the world of paintball don't do so because of PGI. I would guess most do it either through a friend who plays, or through a rec-balling experience. By the time they reach the stage where they are reading PGI I don't think a few scantily clad woman in adverts is going to put them off.

In a perfect world advertisers wouldn't use sex to sell, but in a perfect world advertisers wouldn't need to advertise.
