ya know what? anytime anyone wants to know something, they simply are not allowed to ask any more.

I have actually often sat here and thought to myself

"what would an event be like.......... blah blah blah."

I guarantee if I had posted up the same question as Robbo, Nick would have appeared somewhere in the thread arguing with me, but i highly doubt there would 6 or 7 pages worth of a replies. It has been highly entertaining, no doubt there but why can't people just take it as it is.

Then again Robbo, curiosity prematurely terminated the feline's existence. Perhaps so many people argue because they simply can't abhor the fact that someone else thought of it first........

IF there had been some driving force behind Robbo's post, and lets say FOR EXAMPLE that a mysterious wealthy person was sitting behind Robbo reading all the answers we put before him in a darkened room, while considering whether or not to put on the finest event that Europe has ever seen, some of the replies would have given him cause to wonder whether or not the Eurobrats were actually worth the bother.
Dusty, I haven't terminated Freddie's account, she is free to post, I just thought her sibling loyalty would preclude her from wanting to post here, I have only banned hermtt and nick.

What concerns me in all this is the ratio of *******s to genuine people on our site.
The vast, vast majority on here are pretty cool people, some agree with me, some don't, my point of concern is people like nick and hermitt are in an extremely small minority, and yet I let them get to me.
nick believes he is smarter than he is and hermitt believes he can insult my integrity and get away with it, the real tragedy is that neither of those people seems to be able to recognise their problem.

i honestly believed that Robbo was not telling the whole truth. After he had stated on a number of occasions that he wasnt deceiving anyone, i had no choice to be take that at face value. From then on I just wanted a couple of answers to a couple of questions. For me there was no more agenda or hidden context.

I understand why what I have written may have been misconstrued, but that last post for sure has been taken in the wrong light.

Misconstrued! er no I don't think you can get away with that, you called him a liar or maybe just said you didn't believe him - it's the same thing.
I have disagreed many times with Robbo's posts but, and this is the thing you have failed to take on board, he ain't no-ones lapdog if he says something and then tells you it is the truth, "it's the fakin truth".

If he was asking a preliminary question (and I could see why you thought that) the secondary one would have been posted before you replied.

You cocked up on this one.

Enjoy your holiday !

Gone crazy, back soon...

My point is that a bad weekend playing football is not teh end of the world, it certainly costs next to nothing. Bad paintball drives the consumer (the lifeblood of the industry) away.

Sites deliver what their customers want. Thats how they maintain their customer base.

Tournaments are still essentially selling a product to individuals who form themselves into teams. Give them what they truly desire or fade away.
Mark, thats the rub isn't it. The tournament organisers believe (misguidedly?) that what they are providing is what the community at large wants.

I remember the days of Mayhem and for me that was the be-all-and-end-all of paintball. Thats not to say that current tournaments all suck arse but being able to provide the content and venue like Mayhem would be a shot in the arm.

I've never played MS, not because I don't want to or can't afford it, but life just got in the way. As previous posts have mentioned, the number of tournament Lifers is not likely to be huge but the number of people passionate about the sport and the tournament scene is gonna be far greater and as you said, having a bad day at paintball is expensive....having a bad tournament can be astronomical.

So my point is, turning this ship round is going to next to impossible and lets be honest, the tournaments around the world provide the entertainment required by the players. But the tournaments don't grow with us......we always want something better.....junkies to the sport if you like. So, a one off open tournament could provide that level of excitement.

Now, where's my pump gone? :p

I think the single fact that we're discussing this shows that people arent satisfied with what is currently available. Whether or not they agree or disagree with the people arguing or how they do it or if they choose to listen to them or not, there is obviously unsatisfied customers, including those who are pretty high up in the paintball world.
Im not sure if the Mills organisers read this or are aware of this (I assume they are though) but if they are then it is lunacy for them to not do their utmost to improve the situation and make people aware that they are improving it.

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Wow 7 pages of banter arguments and banning! God I have missed you Pete! I love it!

Just so you all know I was with Pete last night and I made him lift some large weights then I pushed the bar on his chest and would not let him up until he told me what he knows! Kids I can tell you there is no agenda at all just a simple question. So that being said.

Pete No I hate paintball events they are stupid and cost me too much money in hotels etc. So no lets just hang out at the gym instead :)

Ok on a serious note......... Yes I remember the first Hyperball event was awesome no series points just a winner at the end, lost of side shows etc was a proper event and lots of fun. So there should be another one like that so much better from player sponsor point of veiw.

One of the major problems of the Millennium Board is 'old school thinking' and what i mean by that is, they believe, though they would soundly deny this, that if a bunch of paintballers are moaning about their events, then the board's knee jerk reaction is one of complete disdain.

Of course they won't admit to this but I have been around and had many dealings with them over the years, a lot more dealings than most.
To be fair, us ballers ain't the easiest of people to accommodate and we are sometimes a bunch of whiney asses but the problems begin when we do have a valid complaint.

I know they do read these pages and so they are gonna be well aware of what's being said here but will the rationale being employed in some of these posts get through to them?
Hell no, I mean, why spoil the habits of a lifetime, they aren't gonna change that quickly.
If these changes earned them money, then trust me, they would be done in a frikkin heartbeat but the board's philosophy is like a big ole truck trundling down the paintball highway seemingly oblivious to all and sundry and very difficult to make it go in any other direction.

I have some sympathy for them (only some mind you) because they are always being held hostage by what goes down Stateside and must always seek to accommodate the Yanks in terms of industry and leagues.
For the most part, the board listen to the wrong people ..... themselves!
It's time they listened to commonsense and their customer base, and I am talking about the main customer base here and not just the pros.

Pete - when do you get that we are 2 individuals? I haven´t at any point included Nick or his views in any of my posts - you do that, don´t jump to conclusions please! If only you knew us.... :)

The reason I haven´t replied to your last post is simply that I feel they are WAY below me and how I normally have discussions - airborn virus? Come on Pete I have never said anything personal about you and because of that I would actually find it quite suitable that you didn´t either - but you did, and therefore I simply deny taking part in this discussion anymore - it is below me when it gets personal like this.

You keep claiming you don´t want me here - but keep making remarks about me, why? That could only have one purpose and that is to get a reaction? What would you do if someone made such angry remarks about you? You would get furious - I´m not furious, I´m quite calm actually - find this whole thing a bit funny though! :)
