Going back to Dave Jive-ass's original point, I think the problem in paintball is that instead of having one focus we have 14 (in 7-man) or 20 (in 10-man). For sports like fencing they have only 2 focusses at any one point (the fencers) & in most ball sports they have only 1, the ball. Unless there's 1 ref for every player on the field there will be a higher POTENTIAL for cheating, as all the players can't be watched all the time. But 1 ref per player means 14 or 20 refs per field which would mean a massive increase in costs (and an overcrowded field!).
And by the way - watched the Turks for years & never, ever saw a single incident of cheating from them. Yes, they may have got the odd chrono penalty but that's virtually impossible to prevent, e.g. getting a speck of dirt in the reg or similar, & ISTR they got less of those than just about any other pro team out there.
