were getting in to the relmes of emergent tecknology try and keep the ideas out side the box but in side it the relms of possibility.

I was thinking more along the lines of distrabuting stock boards with the requested settings to the players in sealed board to set up and sealed by the scrutanear at the end of the weekend retreve and look for any signs of tampering if said tampering has occured player 1 year DQ and team 1 event DQ

This might only cover the pros but that seems to be where the biggest problems seem to be and the biggest contraversy and hope fully when they realise that cheat boards wont work in pro they will make sure there own players are the best so when they get there they know the can play without the cheat boards (ok so the last bit is abit pie in the sky but its always nice to hope)

Hardly pushing the realms of technology, and if all that's needed is ROF and not velocity an accelerometer could be used to measure the kick/vibration from each shot. (similar technology to a reloader B)
Could be attached anywhere but the barrel being similar on all markers makes for the easiest place to mount it.

the problem isnt ROF its is the person pulling the trigger the same number of times as the number of balls flying out of the other end
im glad u pointed that out.

cheater boards can up velocity but ive only ever heard of one team thats even rumoured to use them (campaign last year anyone? ;) )

the problem is the number of trigger pulls to number coming out. the only way to ref it is to watch their trigger finger....bt then the ref is too tunneled vision.

like i said, its close to impossible to marshall/ref these boards. theyre pretty hard to detect. thats why ppl are saying stock boards or scanners. either way its still an idea jst floating round in t'interent space again

velocity is still a problem i know one team and one individual (Mill CPL + pro nppl) that intentional exced velocity but i know the individual uses tools these are easy to catch as he frequently does he keeps forgetting hang the flag and you get cronoed.

Also, there is no incentive for gun and board manufacturers to produce a bog standard board that is and can only be capable of shooting by the rules of a specific tournament series - if they are all the same, why is their gun/board any better than a (cheaper) rivals.
Reliability. Air efficiency. Shot-to-shot velocity consistency, which lets you set your velocity a few fps higher. Weight. Size/shape/looks. Ease of maintenence. Lack of need for maintenence.

Gun manufacturers arn't winning based on ROF anymore, everybody's gun shoots much faster than is legal.

Location, Location.
go back to gravity fed hoppers. Thats the only true way to get rid of cheater boards.

With electronics - if there's a will, there's a way.

With gravity - summat to do with magnets or something according to robbo. ;)
