Define what is a 'cheater' board?

Some might say virtue and taedo chips are cheating as they 'help' more yet these are classed as ok.

BOB the question is how could the NPPL stop cheater not what is a cheater the NPPL defines it as more than 1 ball per trigger pull no matter how it is cause bounce is easy to prove as it is constant but cheater is the deliberat act of programing a board to fire more than 1 ball per trigger pull with the intention of being able to deactivate is before the ref can check the marker

In my opinion the only way to completly eliminate it is too use only boards that are distributed by the league.... that way after you get chrono'd the gun gets scanned to make sure it has the appropriate board... that hasnt been tampered with and we are good to go... in other proffesional sports the equipment has to meet certain standards and has to be approved by the league... why not paintball???

While "approved" boards are a great idea, it's not feasible in the current tournament environment to enforce that. Most tournaments run on a pretty tight budget. Trying to validate and approve boards for every possible marker, test those boards to ensure they haven't been tampered with and still allow players to set up the markers the way they want to just isn't practical right now. maybe when the sport gets regular TV coverage or major outside sponsorship it will be practical, but right now it's highly unlikely.

(if you want to make the "but boards are cheap" arguement, I recommend doing a search on previous threads. Manike has pretty well debunked that arguement in other threads)

What is possible and enforcable are BPS caps. While true semi-auto is a great idea, the inability to enforce it allows a huge gray area that players can (and will) take Advantage(PB) of.

same as anything. even in other sports people get through with drugs and what not in their system. you got to live with it and hope the people with them just realise if they cant win without them they why bother. fact of the game, same as wiping. you gotta learn to live with it and know that your better then them, even if it is only moral high ground.

however how would tournaments know when a tadao is set to breakout or just plain normal ay? what you gonna do about it. they play can argue that its on normal ramping while secretly you jst gotta press the trigger right, or it could be set to stack shots, so that all the shots it cant fire it lets loose when you stop........its something that would be close to impossible to marshall in my opinion.

Im certainly aware of the budget that national events run on...Ok so we are talking $100 a board..... $1000 a team .... its certainly not that unatainable... also making sure that the proper board is in the gun and hasnt been tampered with isnt as hard as you think....

yere but i go to my arguement. how you gonna know when a board is set to gangster breakout or just plain old ramping? pretty hard just to tell from looking at them
Thats why im talking about approved boards... why would th NPPL allow a board that has modes that they dont approve... the gun.. with an approved unaltered board could be scaned with a device similiar to that at a grocery store... proper board.. green light... cheater... red light...
