I know this is a subject that is really a difficult to quantify the rights and wrongs, nearly every professional team game where the players have to communicate with each other (and the opposition!) involves swearing/cursing, fact.
We just don't hear it because we are miles away from the pitch, or microphones are not directed at the players (although the BBC does recieve complaints from deaf viewers about the football players, it's true!)
There is not a great deal we can do about it, I remember Chuck telling his team no cursing before taking the field at Campaign, so it's a problem he recognises, and obviously wants to limit. But what rules could yo put in place, this is where it gets difficult.
If you were marshalling the Nexus vs. NBK at a mil. event and you heard the Nexus players swearing, and you pulled them for a new abusive language rule, for instance, this would be unfair, as you would have no idea what NBK were saying as I'm sure most of us only have very limited Norwegian!
So effectivley there is nothing we could really do about during the game language, and as for spectators, well another can of worms unfortunately. not trying to be defeatist about the whole topic, but something we can have very little control over at the moment.
Maybe some of he magazines could show more control, but I have never really noticed any major use of bad language in PGI that would worry a parent.
Just my thoughts!
