yeah I know there was a festival at basildon last year but I meant a recognised big festival and there is no Belgium this year:)
It would be interesting to see how much a BIG festival would charge to hold an event in conjunction. The Basildon Festival last year pulled in 40,000! Whilst not "One Weekend" that still a great deal of people to advertise to. Small steps etc...

In respect of grass I believe one of last years write ups (Basildon I think) actually suggested using the grass as it was perfectly good. One thing I do like about using the grass at this event is that it adds a difference to this event from all the rest.

The food provider has changed this year. There will be six different choices of food outlet. Each having a different speciality. The bar is also from a different supplier too. Beer I am told will be aviailable on draught, which shoudl be mosre cost effective than last year for some. Mind you I did like the Mojito last year - but the Outbacks Jon does make a meanie!

Wingnut has already mentioned the clubs but what he didn't mention is that these clubs have just gone through a £5million refit and they are THE place to be in town. Sunday night there is a School Renunion type night which should be good.

I have also managed to arrange free entry to the local gentlemens club again. I have this verbally but just waiting on the written confirmation - so don't quote m yet!!!

This years campaign looks like it is going to be bigger and better than last year. I hope we see a lot of you there.

yeh, what is everyones problem with grass?

Personally, I have no issue playing on grass - so long as it is short and flat.
However, I do believe that MS made a commitment at start of season that ALL events would be played on the artificial turf. Am I correct?

If so, then I believe they should fulfil that commitment.

The One Weekend only had 30, 000 tickets

And yes - Liquid & Envy are great clubs (up and down the country) - should be an awesome weekend!!

I reckon 90% of those 40,000 were exposed to paintball - as they were all gawping out of their car windows as they drove slowly past the M5 fields en route to the car park.

The layout (which was fair enough for security reasons) didn't exactly encourage visitors though - as there was just the one small tunnel which you had to go through to get to the main part of the site.

I don't think there has been a more public-facing tournament in the UK. Crystal Palace was hidden from view where the only people taking an interest were the local scallies - but they were more interested in car stereos. ;)
