Personally I thought the marshalling by Campaign power on the Raven field was exceptional. It was the only field where I was checked for clothing layers (on both days of qualifying), it was also the only field where I was chrono'd during play. The marshalls also did not shy away from taking some hard decisions, they were hard but more importantly fair.

Pinky,

I have seen the Rushers play at more than one occasion, and I have played against them as well (they surgically removed my head at the Temple about a year ago). I have also seen Campaign Power play, and I have seen and been subjected to their reffing. These guys seemed to take their reffing seriously. They went to greater lengths to check players for certain things than I have seen many other reffing teams do, both at Campaign, and other places. Both the Rushers and Campaign Power are teams I hold in high regard. Not just because they play some good ball, but not in the least because they are all nice guys, who are very approachable about anything paintball. They are willing to share their knowledge, and are always willing to let the biggest bumbling clown fondle their gear.
So unless you have some serious evidence to back up your statement, I'm afraid that as a moderator on these forums, I'm going to have to ask you to apologize to both teams concerned.

Regards,

Mark

Some people just see things different to others, I personally have never known the Rushers to do anything other than play hard.

Have to say about people seeing things in a different way the game that the Rushers had the injury happen to one of their team I was watching that from the beginning and although reported on another website that they (The Rushers) were winning at the time of the incident...????? Neither team had lost a player at that point, the Rushers were further up the field as several players had made secondary moves..but winning? Still looked damn impressive those secondary moves cos it happened on both sides of the field at the same time, the secondary move that "caused" the injury.

PS well done Rushers overall

To Buddha 3,

I think that it is unreasonable to ask Pinky to apologise. This is a forum for people to say what they think.

If Pinky has to apologise then everyone else should apologise to La Soya unless they have evidence.

To Nick-Iuel Brockdorff,

Sorry I think you are wrong. Yes occasional swearing is going to happen but from what the others are saying this is not occasional or in the heat of the moment. I know that some people are brought up to think swearing is normal and acceptable but its not. Not only is it bad taste and will scare people away from the sport but using it so often loses the impact of using a swear word. If La Soya never swore people would take notice when he did.

Shooting a player walking off the field. I must admit that I would have done the same. Very few players did anything to indicate that they were eliminated and just wandered or ran off the field. Not sure of Millennium rules but unless they have their arms in the air they are a legitimate target.

You say that he is a great player but he cheats. How great would he be if he didn,t cheat?

Cheering for the team you support is not bad taste it is normal sporting practise. Yes it was a bit embarrassing that none of the American teams were cheered but that is not down to the fact that they are American it is down to the British mentality of supporting the underdog and not recognising success, look how we treat our top football players!

Cheating is very tempting, but is unacceptable and anyone found guilty should be dealt with severely.

I was at Campaign but did not see any of incidents mainly due to not knowing who La Soya is or what team he played for. Before you ask I do know what I am talking about, I have been playing for 15 years but have only recently got back into tourneys after a break of about 10 years.

rancid

Mother, is that you?
Guppy,

if coming up with a possible alternative is 'pissing people off' so be it.

My point was one of perception. What you saw fitted in with your view of the guy. Unchecked you may have told 100 people that you saw him cheat. If those hundred each tell a hundred then lasoya would be hanged at dawn.

I hate to say this, but I'm with Mr Brockdorff. I don't see what the big deal is. On the one hand we want the attitude and the buzz, and the extreme, and on the other we're like a bunch of sunday-baptists shocked at a grown man swearing.

Roland,

I think the 'Lasoya case' has already been dealt with. Rancid took care of that one. Also, he is a player with a bit of a bad rep, some of it justified, some of it perhaps not. In the end, I don't think he cares much, and actually enjoys being the bad boy in paintball.
Despite what you think, this forum is not for people to just say what they think. We are pretty easygoing, but smeering mud over the reputation of two teams with a very clean record is where I personally draw the line. If we were to allow people to just say what they feel, we would have an incredible amount of cyber-fights going on, something that has happened in the (not so distant) past, and which is something we're trying to clamp down on. Starting a debate because you think you saw team X cheat is not a problem, as long as you allow the other team there say as well. Simply stating that team X cheated and saying that the refs from F-U-C-K-I-N-G team Y were biased, without any evidence to back it up, is a no go.

Cheers,
