There's a lot of trash talking about the Pro players - but I have to ask the question: These guys get noticed if they do something "wrong" because they are named players - everyone is watching them - but does the same attention get put onto every other team (130+ or something wasn't it)

Not condoning what happened here - but put it into perspective. We play an adrenaline sport = **** HAPPENS!!
yeah but then again, the magazines are writing about these players all the time. and as they turn up at a tourney and one gets to see them live in action, and stuff like this happens, well.. i just gotta agree with the first post. they're just asking for it.. its not much to do about it though. but why not try to forget all this attitude, and give more attention to the ones who play fair and well. for example.. the russians.. the scands .. ;) nudge nudge
maybe im biased

need to get hold of Tank for an exit
My only gripes (and they are mostly ickle tiny things - overall a top tourney, never enjoyed myself so much over a weekends paintball :D ) are small.

1: The Chrono Stations, should have been more inacessible - the one by field 5 (Tomahawk field) had an opening in the netting around it, and peoples watching the games were stood close, ungoggled.

2: Why wasn't my air bottle checked to see if it was in date? I know this is hassle, but it's something I think should be done at every tourney. Also - aren't CO2 fill stations supposed to be fastened up to the wall or something?

3: No one enforcing goggles on in the chrono area/range - numerous times I saw certain people shooting without goggles. (I even got a photo of some players who shall remain nameless, cos one of them is already getting a load of stick ;) )

4: The noodles were too expensive  but the bar was pretty good value for food.

5: According to the bloke on the mic on Sunday - every game was "THE game of the day". Surely THE game was Rushers vs TonTon Acyd?

6: And this probably only happened to us, so a minor gripe - the marshals on the Tomahawk field obviously liked the look of our opponents e-mags, and asked to have a quick go - wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't used us picking our markers from the marker box as targets.

But that's all the negatives - and only picked by being ultra critical.
It was still the dogs of a tourney, cheers Niall (and Mrs Muggins Pie Shop according to the scoreboard ;) )

Most of the marshalling was the shiznit as well - apart from a couple "family" ;) awful calls, but that's understandable, and I know I'd have done a much worse job.

Yeah I forgot to mention that had to be the BEST marshalling effort by far! But you don't go to world cup and expect anything less either!

Top Notch marshalling for sure! Minus the little things but we all see them from different points of view!;)

You sure you didn't shoot at the marshalls during the game, and this was just payback? :D

The judging was very good on all the fields we played on, as for some of these Pro players, don't forget the immense pressure these players are under, they have so much to loose if they don't make the finals and everybody plays them like it's the world cup final, so they never have an easy game.
Personally I thinks it's sad to see the likes of Lasoya cheating and lowering himself to that level, I remember watching him at Mayhem and Campaign 3 years ago and he totally blew me away with his killer moves and the way he just walked up the field and tore teams apart.
His signature walks up the field have sadly changed into mugging someone, getting shot, and running onto the second mugging, shooting him out, then removing his armband and running to the dead zone before a marshal gets to him.
The crowds are starting to boo him more and more and he can't really blame anyone but himself....

Fantastic

Some really great posts on this one, well done most of you that are not bothered to put a post about someone they think is an ******* its really refreshing to see someone one crawling up a players arse just because they believe him to be the best for another reason

Now I cannot comment on any of the games mentioned as I did not watch a single one, just turned up to see some friends and wasnt interested in the gamesmanship of the tourny

Nial did do a great job, fantastic atmosphere, but some real whining and bitching from the players in the pro event as usual
Novice and AM not the same there
Unfortunately the players will get away with what they can get away with, and you are right must have the balls to say get off my f***ing field you little c*** and start pulling armbands
The only way for this to happen is to have pros reffing pros unless you get the odd decent ref from the other ranks who have balls
Now you get into the "we cant piss them off they ref us next and they will dick us over and that happens in the states all the time and Ive seen it with my own eyes"

You really need a head who will head each field well they would notice **** and arguing and would take the less experienced and pull 1-1. 2-1 then the pros react like this

Having trained refs will not happen I am soory to say before anyone posts it either

cheating

Sadly I have to agree with the earlier posts in this thread. I observed LaSoya blatantly cheating on 2 occasions in the same game. On field 3 i saw him wipe a hit from his barrel and play on. Considering the crowd around the field i'm sure i'm not the only one who saw this as quite likely did the media...
Here's a perfect example of a sideline hanging. If you'd been on the field you would have heard the marshal tell Lasoya to wipe the shot off and carry on, it wasn't a legitimate hit!

You've just called him a cheat and posted it on a board where thousands are watching. How do you justify that?

Unfortunately, yes, I can safely say that we didn't shoot the judges at all in this game - unlike the one on the Smart Parts field where we got a bolloxing cause one of the judges stood up into my stream of paint - and yes, I apologised :p
