so what did you think of the reffing at campaign?

ok, so give me some feedback what did you all think of the reffing at the campaign cup?

i was reffing with shockwave 3 on the tommohawk field (4) and i think it went pretty good. i did hear a few rumbleings from players saying that they had been screwed on other fields, but over all what did you think?

cheers

Played all fields except 1 & 4 and had no problems over the 2 days, nice quick marshalling, really on the ball, no agruments with any decisions..... except for....

....... a bad marshalling experience on field 7 on Saturday morning.

Had our forward player on the 50 eliminated because he had brushed his goggles against some paint on a barricade ..really did not look like a hit at all.

About 20 seconds after that one of our players took some hits down his side ... none broke except one on his heal which he couldn't see. Marshall then watched him check himself, waited for him to pot up and fire again ... rushed in and 1-4-1 us.

From being 6 on 3 just after the break with a player in a real killing position on the 50 we lost the game as our left side collapsed (removed by the marshalls!)

Think it cost us a place in the finals.....

Don't think we were the only team that had problems with that field.

Apart from that had a fantastic tournament, played some great teams (managed to take 4 Nexus players!!) would play it all again next week if I could...

Like to thank all the teams I played for some brilliant games.... cheers... see ya all again soon. (Euro 5 man Oct 5/6... be there!)

I think that as the tourney went on the marshalls got lazy. I was at field 8 and was screaming for a paint check on one player. NOT one marshall even bothered to move to check. After the game was over I asked if I could get even one paint check during a game and he stated NO!

Didnt have too many other problems on any of the other fields.

It's not the marshall's job to do as you tell him, is it? If you call a check on yourself, that's a different case. But a marshall doesn't have to go and check every time you call a check on someone else.

There appeared to be a few dodgy calls that I saw (and one which looked like a call, but then everything got confusing, so I'll wait for the teams involved in that to post up what really happened) but all in all most of the fields seemed fair and responsive :D

overall the marshalling was good, a few of the marshall looked as though they were 'scared' to be hit and so were on the side of the player that wasnt getting paint, so when he gets hit, the marshall doesnt see it and it gets wiped

question: is overly over agressive play(ie bonus balling a whole team with about 20 balls each) 1-4-1able?

Overall I thought the marsalling was good, but inconsistances in the rules applied led to a little/some confusion.

On field six I had a hot gun (couldn't turn it down) and was allowed on the field with no marker. On field 3 a team mate had a hot gun at the chrono and got told "no gun no play" and wasn't allowed on the field.

And on the chrono is it a 3 shot average below 300, or any 1 out of 3 shots or 4 shots or 5 shots? (different fields seemed to fire a different number of shots over the chrono)

Was that on field one, Friday, took the back centre player out as the 1 for 1. If it was you were right, they seemed over eager there.

Get Off My Field! NOW!
From what i saw, Some of the marshalls on field 2 were abit off.... i watched a game, (not going to mention the teams) but a player visibly wiped infront of spectators and two marshalls, and they didnt do anyhting at all!! but apart from that, the rest of the marshalling on all fields was great.... What i saw may of been of a barricade. but who knows...
