Isn't having Kilbourne on the rules committee rather like hiring a known pedophile to be your family babysitter?
I think that's an extremely inappropriate parallel, you coulda used many more examples and some that might have been slightly humorous

heres a suggestion for a parallel,

as dodgy as a nun doing pushups in a cucumber field! that works i think, or that worse

Hmmm, sorry mate, don't quite work as a parallel, I was thinking more like ..'having Ronnie Kilbourne on the rules committes is like leaving Andy Piper in charge of the pies or.......Smart Parts in charge of issuing patents.....and so on....

I note that while you may find the analogy in poor taste you aren't objecting to the thought behind it. :p
I was also having a spot of fun with your using Kilbourne as an exemplary endorser of Swedish refs. C'mon, that's just plain funny.

To put the record straight, the judges on field 2 were exemplary,
Thankyou, hopefully when we marshall an event next season we will get the same kind of feedback. Hopefully we wont judge Campaign, as it is an amazing event and i would really love to play it!

Robbo- do you have Ron Kilbourne's email by any chance?

cheers.

sam:)

Unfortunately not....

May be they should just simply mix the team of marshalls. Like this, Marshalls of field one for example would be:

- one french
- two english
- one german etc

So nobody would be able to say , marshalls of field one (who were in fact team XXX) were biasing games etc etc.
Sometimes that isn't even good enough!

During semi-finals there were no games on field 8, so we (New Russians) were split up over fields 4, 5, and 6. So on field 5, we had French, American and Russian marshalls (8 French, 2 Russian, and 1 American.) We had Legion vs. Bushwackers, both playing their third game, the winner of which would go on to finals. Bushwackers requested to have us, the three guys from New Russians, removed from the field, and replaced with Germans from field 6. We had no problem with it, and it was better for RL that no accusations could be made about us helping them, so we left. We were a little insulted by it, but in the spirit of fair play, left without objection. It's actually kind of funny, since RL is probably the easiest team to marshall.

Bottom line though - 11 marshalls, three different nationalities on the field, and they still asked us no to be there.
