That's the thing that amazes me about Dynasty also.

Heck they could even do it when drunk...!!!

Maybe Dynasty could, but the Legion aren't allowed to drink, the alcohol messes with their internal circuit boards:p Makes them short circuit;)

On a more setlled note Gareth - we (paintballers) have more than just XBall.
This event was hardly a great mainstream advert for the game and I think the optimism you enjoy is founded more in the playing of the game rather than the way it was presented or promoted.
Huntington Beach with the tens of thouands of people there and everything else that went with that event is I believe a fantastic vehicle for promoting paintball into the mainstream.

So I can understand your enthusiasm but if you had been to Huntington Beach, you may well not have held such an insular view.

But, in essence, it's good for us Paintballers whatever happens.

for many years the ton tons have been one of the worst ambassadors for paintball
true they play american tornies but with their behaviour and unsportmanship attitude i sometimes wonder why they even play this sport
it is really beyond me
and why on earth does the paintball community tollerates them
might as well ban the whole team if they cannot play fairly and without all the dramatics
a real shame and embarrassement to us all who plays
as also stated we should all aim at being better teams and brit teams should put their old rivalries behind and play hard
becasue our goal is to be as good as the rl not tt
the gre-gore

Yep Russians are reinventing the limits of paintball. As Ronnie said there was no cheating, no bonus balling just 100% clean hardcore paintball! Never seen anything like it!

And yep, I must say that, even if I'm a Tonton fan, I saw some pretty dodgy acts coming from their side! I also saw them get a couple bad decisions but who didn't (except the Russians who's game is so on the ball that the decisions are always transparent). I can't understand the kind of pressure (and pain from so many hits) the players go through during the game but still, as a professional one must know how to keep cool and not act in such a fashion as to embarass your team.

One of the saddest displays of sportsmanship I saw this week end was a Tonton player leaving the penalty box with 3 Tigers (correct me if I'm wrong) waiting for him at the exit. Noone shot him, they were just waiting for him. So the Tonton goes and starts this big drama, puts his hands up and starts cussing and shouting at the 3 Tiger players saying, "go on shoot me, come on bleep bleep shoot me". Well they should have shot that whiny *******!!!! He didn't even have the guts to fight it out!!! He just put his hands up and started his one man show! Dude if you don't like the rules, don't play the game!!!!! Anyway after a couple seconds of that guy whining the refs just pulled him out!!! WTF were the players left on the field supposed to do. Go back to their base and give him a headstart!

One thing I noticed though was the number of impacts the guys playing X-Ball had. I saw a couple guys walking around with no shirt and they were really bruised. One guy had his whole left side covered! There must have been 30 impacts if not more! Looks fine and dandy from the sideline and your like: hell I wanna do that. Then you see the guys come off the field and you realise how hard the game is....

Ton Tons

I dont have anything against them at all. BUT I saw pussylike bitching on calls GUN THROWN WITOUT PENALTIES!!! And the worst of all they forfeited the game against Joy in the second 25 mins in the semis. They just gave up when the clock was at 13 something minutes and walked off the field... WTF with that? That will ceartainly NOT help the general view about the French and their surrendering habits.

RL

If anyone wants to beat them this year here is my advice:

Get a time machine!

You will need it to go back one year and start to train Xball NON STOP! Then you will have a chance!
There were 2 russian old guys sitting on the benches of the Xball field documenting EVERY MOVE ON THE FIELD!! Not just breakouts but EVERY MOVE on a nicely drawn field plan. Anyone bumped up one bunker the old man documented it. I was sitting beside him and peeked in what he is doing while the other old guy had video camera and taped some moves.
There is and incredibile amount of work and energy put into that team on and off the field. The devotion of the players, coaches and Sergei (and the financial backing) will elevate that team so high that a few if ANY will be competition for them at all. I think if there is an equivalent for the Borg in paintball then its RL!!

Paris.

Its funny you go to Paris play on a potato field and then go back home. I couldnt say I was in Paris if I hadnt seen the Eiffiel tower from the plane when we where leaving..

Just have to say that the Russians really destroyed us! I didnt think they would be as good as they was. 7-1 after the first 25 minutes in the final! I dont care what anybody says, but to win 7 out of 8 times against Joy in 25 minutes is wierd!
End result was 12-6 and Im happy that my players keept going at what seemed to be a machine and actuelly win the second half. But on the other hand I dont think the russians bothered to much in the second half...

They are truely a inspiration for me and I feelt really happy for them after the game. Sergey and the entire team deserved this more than anybody else.

Also want to thank all thoose people that cheered on us at Paris, really nice to see all the support from Tigers and Ducklings and all the other friends!!

Tampa next....

I watched 3 of their games and never noticed a player in the sin bin.

Loved the 1 v 4 against Joy too! - Never seen such a calm player as the last Russian.....

He gained mucho's respect from all players, and all spectators
