Pure semi only, one pull one shot, no ramping etc, then there will be no more "grey areas", lets not push the technical boundaries and give the government any reasons to penalise paintball.

That’s my two pence worth………..now I’m broke… bugger!!
Cool, show me a pure one pull, one shot marker and I'll show you mass self-delusion.

Dammnit Duf

You beat me to it

My ol' trusty faithful doe eyed Automag had a certain 'one shot-one pullness' about it

I shot a couple of others that left you with bleeding fingers that would pass muster too. Oh and lets not forget the pumps!!

In order to come under the firearms act something has to be classed as a lethal barreled weapon.

Barreled yes, but the other two are less clear.

Firstly concider that plastic bullets are not counted as lethal. The fragible nature of the intended ammo is important, but even with hard ammo it has been used by the authorities in a non-lethal capacity.

And a "weapon" is defined by the purpose for which it is used. A brick is a weapon if you use it to attack someone, but i'm pretty sure my house ain't built of weapons. Similarly if you cloat someone with your boomstick you are using it as a weapon.

But i'm not a lawyer. Perhaps we should speak to one, of course they couldn't tell us the outcome of any trial, just give us there best proffesional estimate as to what they think a trial would conclude. Hang on aren't the HO people qualified to advise us of this as well. Of course they still couldn't tell us the outcome of the trial. That sounds kind of like what they said.

Ben,

Yes, that's what we've been told. I've yet to see ANY proof that ramping, burst, turbo, fa, whatever ARE legal in this country. Or, infact, that the Home Office has made any official comment on it.

Until I see that, I'm erring on the side of caution. We are creating a community of 'ballers in this country that except these fire modes and NONE of us actually know where we stand with the law. To me, something's wrong with that.

If I'm wrong, can someone show me different please so we can put this damn argument to rest!
Chris.

All you have to do is ask the ukpsf and Steve will fax you a copy of the letter from the home office, and that will tell you that because of the frangable nature of the ammunition that is used, paintball does not come under any firearms laws.
And as such any mode(s) used are legal just like a fully auto water pistol
So if we wanted to use 35bps full auto - the law would not be a problem.
