And the next generation paint delivery system skips pods and hoppers altogether! Make a pack that funnels paint down--gravity acting on paintballs so completely within current rules interpretation--and then simply extend the length of hose from bottom of pack to gun like a longer Warpfeed. Same concept--different application.
Even better--with FA let's get rid of triggers. Don't need 'em--simple push button or voice activation--and that way industry bypasses the next great SP patent infringement case completely.

Who knows, maybe we can get around the whole gun thing this way too. Doesn't the definition of a firearm included stuff like the trigger and hand grip and so on? FA for everyone.

I wouldnt vote for that either but we arent actually being realistic here are we...?
Well I don't know if any of you have heard but there is a gun that has a trigger as short and as soft as an electronic gun but it has zero electroinics and can shoot 20bps. i don't know if that would make it any safer.

Why not just make it so that only certain hoppers are allowable. If everyone was forced to use a 12vt revvy (or similar) hopper, it wouldn't really matter how much bounce they had since their hoppers couldn't keep up.

It wouldn't be too hard to regulate either.

FA really doesn't solve anything as far as cheaters go. They'll just come up with new ways to cheat - faster ROF (if ROF is capped), ramping velocity, etc. etc.

And if there's nothing left to cheat on the gun, they'll start looking at other ways to get an edge. Maybe electronically regulated air tanks that ramp the pressure for higher velocity?

While we're giving in to the cheaters, let's eliminate pre-game chronoing too. It seems like a waste of time to see if someone's shooting under 300 fps before the game, when their cheat-enabled boards will be shooting 320 once the game starts. Let's just eliminate chronoing completely and let players shoot whatever velocity they want.

Giving in and saying "the cheaters win, they can shoot FA" isn't going to reduce cheating or make the game safer. It's just going to push cheating in new directions.

I'm not sure how many of you are old enough, but I'm sure Teej remembers playing the one season in the NAAPSA League where f/a was legal. Although a little disconcerting at first, I don't remember hearing anything about injuries throughout that entire year. It was the first year of the Angel, and that was all there was, as I recall, that could go f/a at the time, so I assume the rule got tossed due to people not wanting to put down their 'Mags and 'Cockers and $1000 on an Angel, not injuries.

I think paintballers were tougher then.

How am I clouding the issue? You say there weren't any injuries during the time f/a was legal. I say that's because the markers weren't shooting 30+ bps. Think about what a big string at 30 bps on your goggles will do to your eyes, right after the first few ball break the lens...
