Searching for the pro-tour....:S
Oh dear, that thing is an abomination!

My workstations get a hard life so run Front and rear 100MM fans, twin cooled power suplies and each has two banks of 3 mini fans cooling the hard drive! Plus CPU and Graphics processors fans! Oh yes and I run a UPS to.

Find the guy responsible for that and throw him from the highest availiable building!

No the bispoke is basicly self contained programs that were used on councils for maintaing stock and stuff like houseing and all that rubbish. Not very good but they were unix based..

Oh you work for sage --- give me a copy of sage pay roll ... hehe and dont forget the books lol.

P.s i hate sage its so unforgiveing -- you can never doge the tax and stuff like that on it .. allso fiddleing the stock on sage it a total nightmare as well.

Why not, afterall, they're still PC's :D

COLO places have accomadation for servers like that, so it show it is done quite often :)

I'd never buy webspace off a company that hosted on "desktop PCs"...

Desktop PCs are precisely that... for the desktop. Server architecture is a completely different game. If anybody came to me pitching to sell server space on something like that I'd throw them out the door quicker than I can shoot them in the ass with my shocker ;)

COLO places do it for people who are on a budget - and that's what you get - a service on a budget. False economy in my opinion, and a lesson learned by paintballchannel no doubt.

Even if I was forced to use COLO services, I'd still buy a rack-mount server with all the multiple redundancy and resiliency hardware built-in. They're not that expensive, and since you're not paying for all that gamer sh!t you can spend it on proper server hardware.
