Hey Robbo, does banging your head any lower your blood pressure? If so...start banging other peoples heads....always satisfies me ;)

For all the griping about the thread Robbo closed, I can't quite figure out why he's starting a whole new thread to bitch about it. Close thread where someone disagrees with you, then start thread griping about the person who disagrees with you? Must be some new fangled philosophy in forum moderation.

And at least quote me accurately. I didn't say it was impossible for us to do it, just that people were ignoring big obstacles to the growth of the sport in favor of focusing on and exagerating the significance of trivial player-oriented problems, and also ignoring significant differences between the European and American environments. Tournament players need to learn to differentiate between problems with the service they pay promoters for and obstacles to the growth of the sport. They are generally NOT the same thing, as much as the tournament ego would like to think so.

I just hope for many of your sakes that Pete never decides to walk off a cliff. ;)

As for my bone-headed decisions, my boneheaded decisions let you play tournaments in a national league for under $100. There's a very strong chance my bone-headed decisions will lead to a FREE ENTRY, BYOP National Championships. If you do not like my boneheaded decisions, run for NCPA President and win and you can be paid nothing to make your own decisions. Or you can pay more to go play in another league. Hell, if you made intelligent comment on the NCPA forums or expressed your concerns to myself or your representatives on the Board, you might even see the change you want without anything so drastic. We can't make improvements without knowing what you want improved, and when we do make boneheaded decisions (and yes, I certainly make my share) we can at least tell you what we were thinking at the time.

As we both know Chris, the smiley face at the end of that line was unnecessary !
But don't ever get confused with informed consensus opinion and people who you think are trying to ingratiate themselves with me.

The people lined up against you in terms of debate are very intelligent, very informed and mature people. I would think they would feel insulted at your inference.
It takes a man to put his hands up and admit he was wrong, when you have achieved that status, I will start trying to take you seriously again.
Until that time, quit the smiley faces when you don't mean them !

(heavily snipped)
Player oriented problems are not trivial, if you have that attitude then you will find yourself organising tournies for yourself with no players in attendance. one reason why the Euro tournie scene is so much better is because players concerns are not trivialised. Take a leaf out of Niall's book and put the players first and they won't feel the need to bitch about you.

Thought for the thread "Turdis's do not good toilets make"

8 weeks to NPPL Huntington Beach. Then we'll know if Chuck and WDP can do it. Chris, will you be there? Robbo, you going?

Joy Division is one of the reffing teams, so that looks good so far. Brass Eagle will be there (and have some new old-blood in one of their teams; to be reckoned with). I understand the venue is not grass but is not sandy but is clay. All in all it looks like quite an exciting tournament with a lot of interesting people, teams, sponsors and ideas. I'm really hoping I can make it to this ground-breaking event.

Then we can put to rest all of these vain attempts to wear the horns off a billy-goat.:) :D  ;) :p  :) :) :)
