Not being intimately familiar with the team as you obviously are, I couldn't comment on that. I don't keep my eye on the latest gossip and rumours in paintball anymore, because it numbs my mind quicker than American "reality" TV. Avalanche has been in and out of sponsorship with WDP twice in the history of the team, so I i'm not even sure which parting of ways you're talking about. In either case, I'm sure it had to do way more with money than with guns. WDP don't really like to shell out a whole lot of money to the teams they sponsor. They allowed Dynasty to move to Smart Parts without even making a counter-offer. Primarily, they're an equipment manufacturer, and they'd probably rather spend the money on R&D. They really aren't in dire need of any more brand awareness, they already manufacture either the most loved or the most hated gun in history, depending which side of the fence you're on, and have brand recognition like none other. What I can tell you with certainty is that top level paintball is composed primarily of the biggest whiners, cry-babies and weak-egoed bitches on this planet, and politics has a lot more to do with sponsorship decisions than performance. Keep that in mind whenever any "big" news breaks about a team.BigbOYALA2 said:A-Team(Arsenal's B team) switched to Egos this year. Ever since then, Arsenal has been complaining about their guns.
Avalanche was never satisfied with WDP either, that's why they left. And make sure to understand that Avalanche left WDP, not the other way around.
im pretty sure we are not on PB Nation..BigbOYALA2 said:Haha, I love how everytime a team leaves WDP cause of ****ty guns and ****ty support, WDP says that they "released the team due to poor performance".
Lack of performance from the team, wanting more pay, im sure WDP made the right decision , and as far as boys saying $hitty guns, small talk best left for kids on PB Nation.dr.strangelove But when you consider that WDP's first sponsored team was Avalanche and they were the gods of the professional league at the time, and that since then, WDP hasn't sponsored a team that's produced a single NPPL, NXL or PSP series title, you can see why they'd bee dissapointed. I haven't seen where a WDP team decided to switch sponsors due to "****ty guns and service" either (unless you mean Dynasty leaving because WDP refused to put eyes on their guns and wouldn't give them a private label angel, which really came down to: SP offered them copious amounts of money that WDP couldn't or wouldn't afford). Avalanche was on board to shoot System X guns before going back to WDP, so clearly ****ty guns and ****ty service weren't a major conern for them. And thus far, it looks like Arsenal was purchased by a new party/sponsor, not that they left WDP because of anything to do with guns or service. Probably they wanted to get paid more money, and WDP didn't want to pay it to them, seeing as how they haven't taken a series title in any professional league under their sponsorship. Think about it, if you were sponsoring a middle-top-10 team and they gave you the option of paying them more, or finding a new sponsor, what would you do? Probably, WDP wants a top 3 team for their sponsorship dollar.
I believe that some Ego and DM teams had the same problems at HB though...in fact, I think pretty much every gun did.JONZO said:Usually I don't get myself into this type of conversation, but here we go:
To say that Arsenal's poor performance in HB was due to their Angels is not entirely true. The team's practice habits are what I think really does them in. The practices they do actually get in before an event are good...but when you practice twice as a team, and then go to an event where your opponents practice together weekly...you're eventually going to run into the cold hard fact that these other teams are more prepared than you. Arsenal has great players, but if they don't play all the time, the world progresses around them.
Now to get on the topic of actual Angel performance - I've overheard comments from the mouths of more than one Angel sponsored Pro team, and lets just say I wouldn't go to an event with an Angel in my hands. In HB I watched Arsenal and Rage spend more time cleaning their barrels out than communicating. I think that Rage's 4th place finish would have been a 2nd place finish had the guns performed as well as XSV's EGO's.
Absolutely, cast iron, the man speaketh the truth.duffistuta said:I believe that some Ego and DM teams had the same problems at HB though...in fact, I think pretty much every gun did.
Top end guns, if maintained right, will all do the job in the right hands - the differences are almost entirely subjective. Fact - if WDP threw enough money at the Russians, or Dynasty, or XSV, they would shoot Angels, and they would win with Angels. Same for pretty much every other gun that retails above about £400.

I used my 06, without any ups, last week, in some crappy conditions, on both supair, and woodlands, the thing rocked! n its been sitting on a shelf for two months, without being fired. I didnt have a single chop ALL day, and it can still empty a hopper quicker than an ego(both on true semi)
If i were good enough to play pro, id only play for a team that shot Angels.
