Nobody is talking about competing with the top US Pro teams.

We are talking about comepting with the average US Pro teams.

I just demonstrated a few posts back why finances are no longer as relevant.

I suggest you read the whole thread, before posting :)

Maybe you need to define what your comparison basis is. The comparisonn has drifted back and forth between comparing pro teams, D1 teams and some hypothetical "average" team.

You mention "average" pro teams, but your examples have been the top european pro teams (Joy, Menace, Tontons). What happens if you put the # 5 - 10 teams from CPL against the # 5 - 10 teams from the NPPL or NXL? What would the results be?

NPPL Rank 5 - 10
5 Ironmen
6 Oakland Empire
7 = Los Angeles Infamous
7 = Miami Rage
9 = St. Louis Avalanche
9 = Portland Naughty Dogs
11 Stockholm Joy Division

NXL Rank 5 - 10
5 Miami Raiders
6 Trauma
7 DYNASTY
8 Detroit Strange
9 Naughty Dogs
10 Chicago Aftershock

CPL
5 Syndicate
6 Vision
7 XSV (paintoon)
8 Nexus
9 Ducks
10 Influence

That is not the point (at least not the one I tried to make starting this thread)

The whole point is - as opposed to previous years - do we think the best 3-4 European teams, can compete with the average US Pro teams?

NOT XSV/Dynasty/Ironmen/etc. - everyone knows the European teams are not there yet.... it will be a couple of years yet.

Some people on here hold the belief that the top European teams would fare worse today in for instance the NPPL Pro division, than they did last year or the year before - whereas I believe the difference has diminished.

Nick

P.S. - And please keep the russian out of it - they may be a European team by name - but they are not really indicative of the European paintball scene, as they don't play here at all.

I'd expect European pro paintball teams to be able to compete with American pro paintball teams at about the time American pro football teams can compete with European pro football teams.

Hehe, Christian, Svein & me on Menace, where playing (and coaching) a football team in Norway, and won the Norwegian championship 8 times, and we struggled even when we played D2 teams from the states:D :rolleyes:

But atleast we are closer now;)

Dunno about anyone else, but i'd sure as hell wish to compete against the best pro teams, not the average ones...;)

The question has been answered, euro paintball teams are getting better. American teams however are getting better at a much quicker pace than us.
