And if you are ever in PA Nick come have a look at the training facility (All American Paintball Park) and tell me were or who in Europe can build such a facility
Yeah, I've seen the pics - looks great.
Actually, you'd be surprised to find that more and more places like that are cropping up in Europe, only they are shooting Reballs - not paint (exactly because we don't have the financial support of US teams
)
This is our local practice arena for instance:
Copenhagen Reball Arena
Most serious ballers in Scandinavia play at LEAST twice per week.... many play more.
Now, obviously Reball has a few drawbacks to playing with real paint - velocity and trajectory are slightly different... but still... practicing your individual skills is just as good with Reball.
Anyway - my point is, that the financial gap, which is huge between Euro and US pro teams, is becoming less significant with the invention of Reballs, and for that reason we are seeing more and more Euro team get to a level where they have never been before.
- How do you think Joy Division got where they are? - there is a Pro team with nearly NO paint budget for training (paint manufacturers don't like to sponsor the Reball manufacturers team
).... so they are practicing, but they are doing it without shooting a single paintball - 4 times a week
People may say all they like, but Joy Division is only the start - they have been training this way the longest, of the Euro teams, so obviously they are reaping the benefits first...... I predict that in a couple of years (if that), you will see 4-5 other European Pro teams, that are just as competitive... we are already starting to see that change happen (Menace are next in line)
