1--Hello Loco, I am sure that if you represent SP in a way they agree with, don't rock the boat and basically be a good boy, then you will be featured in the show - no problem. You need the show to work, as your sponsor may choose to pull out of the NXL altogether soon, which could facilitate a 2-league situation again. One 'league' containing Smart Parts teams only, the other as a legitimate Paintball event.;)

...
2--I'm sure its not true that Philly have already been practicing the feild layouts for Connetticut for over a month already. I mean, there is no way that's true, is there Loco? Would that make you a bit uneasy, you know, if it was true?

3--I wonder how long NYX have left on their Dye contract?
1--Speaking of not rocking the boat that's why you use your real name on these forums, isn't it, Missy?:p
The fact is, and easily established here and in print, that I have been a member of a Smart Parts sponsored team of some note for around 3 years now and it has never altered my opinion or the expression thereof nor has it caused, to my knowledge, SP to make any effort to stop me from expressing that opinion even when I make jokes about them or am less than on board with their program. Sadly, the same cannot be said about a company you may or may not have a close familiarity with.

Neither I or the Raiders need the show to work. We are about playing paintball. As a Smart Parts team and the representative of the Miami franchise we have the normal obligations that measure of sponsorship requires and we are happy to meet our obligations and to always compete to the best of our ability in whatever venue we play.

I have never had any issues with SP as a team sponsor. They have, in my experience, made every effort to keep their teams happy and competitive.

Despite all that I've always said what I thought even when it wasn't in SP's favor--which you well know--nor will you bait me into some outrageous statements as if I need to prove my independence, to you or anyone. :)

2--Everyone already half imagines its true regardless and would perhaps help explain their result against us in Vegas. :D No doubt we'll see them again and both teams will do their best to win.

3--To be honest NYX isn't even on my radar. Rosie is a great guy and I will always wish him well but beyond that I couldn't care less.

A little sensitive today Loco?
1. I was in no way casting aspersions in your direction Comrade. I know you well enough to know that you would happily vocalise your opinions, good or bad, right or wrong, about this new 'league'. That is why I was looking forward to asking you these questions - Not so that you would take the 'party line'; quite the opposite. I just wish you would stop talking about how independant you are and start demonstrating it as you usually do with such gusto. Your number '1' point therefore did not need to be said (at least not for my benefit). The end of your number '1' can only be a dig at me, but I am afraid I have no idea what you are refering to. Perhaps you said something uninformed or untrue at some stage and had this brought to your attention? Who cares? - not me. Hope I cleared that up.

You are the most informed person I am in contact with that is involved in the Scottish Premier League (odd that this uses the same acronym as a little watched localised Soccer league in the UK) and so naturally I asked you about it. Thats all there is to it. If this is a sensitive subject and you want me to avoid it, just let me know.

The NYX thing is a side-note. Obviously I would not expect NYX do retain Dye sponsorship, but I would expect Jerry already has their next sponsorship deal inked.

Tell me, is the rumor true that Jerry and the Gardners are pulling their teams from the NXL? Or is that just Jerry?
Wanna buy a franchise for $200g anyone?

I'm always happy to answer questions and/or offer an opinion whether it's wanted or not. For purposes of continuing let's assume I'm being sensitive today and move on.

As to the item you know nothing about--check your email.

As to what Jerry is or isn't doing, frankly, I'm amazed (and would likely be appalled if I wasn't so cynical) that anyone is having anything at all to do with him anymore--but that's just me.

As to the rumor--no idea if that has been stated explicited but it seems to have been implied. Even so, all the current posturing doesn't necessarily mean a lot until somebody ratchets this up one more notch and chooses to act. Otherwise, it might be wait and see until the shows air 'cus they don't mean anything unless they succeed--whatever that means.

The status of the franchises and the legal relationships is the interesting part of this because there must be recourse, mustn't there, unless it's dependent on the franchises having actual as opposed to potential value.

While I would characterize the current coup attempt as destructive who knows what will happen? This whole episode is making a big splash and the possible chaos seems easy to predict while the PP/IMG dealio is looking good and receiving lots of kudos but--

Where does either one leave anybody but the principles? I have yet to hear about any concrete plan that delivers any value to the teams and players. All the talk is about getting paid if or when or some sort of trickle down scheme where what's good for the league is supposed to be good for the teams but in the end they're on their own.

From here it looks like everybody has their own agenda, just different styles of working the angles while insisting it's for the good of the game.

It's not just you Paul, I just cannot believe anybody would do business with this man anymore let alone become a partner with him.
In my opinion, he has shown time and time again that money is this man's god and as such, his whole behavior set revolves around acquiring more and more of it.

The pursuit of money in this case is almost pathological and I honestly believe his involvement in all this will mean its ultimate downfall because most people used to believe it was Dick Clark's illness that made him lose enthusiasm for Paintball, the truth of the matter is somewhat different as the past returned to haunt Jerry in talks with the ESPN hierarchy.
When the Braun ghost of lawsuits past reappeared, Dick Clark was furious and thus he ended his involvement.
It beggars belief that he still is able to represent us in some way.

Yes, It beggars belief, he actually harms paintballs chances. If he was an elected representative he would have been fired many times over for a plethora of legitimate reasons. Unfortunately he will not go away. He lingers on to pollute paintballs environment like a particularly nasty fart, those ones you can almost taste. The ones that make you gag and leave the room. You know the ones I mean...
Making Smart Parts look good in all this is a near impossible task, but Jerry may actually be the one person who could pull it off.

Not intentionally, although you are right, this should be a comedy sketch.

Talking of comedy, on Fox 11 news last night the main story was a weirdo who used teen-modeling websites to pose as a photographer and get (very) young chicks to send him naked pictures. So they start showing pictures of him, and BAM - there he is standing there with his Smart Parts Ion. Go figure!

Of course, in the bigger picture this would be a bad thing, but I had to laugh.

I know nothing about the history of this, apart from what has been said here, but that nearly made me piss myself :D lol :D

Would love to know more history, being new to tourny side of things, I seem to have missed all this.

Everybody hates everybody so much that screwing each other over has taken priority over helping themselves out.

I fear the mainstream acceptence of paintball is doomed until someone from outside the industry takes an interest with a big wallet and a big "I don't give a rats ass what you think" to the industry. The current players lack the resources to make an impact on their own and lack the will to coordinate their resources effectively.

You're right Chicago, but people hating each other should not stand in the way of sensible business decision-making. Hell, I hate an abundance of people, but it does not stop me working towards a goal. This isn't about hate, it's about certain peoples ego's, pure and simple.
