So far this season we've had nothing but uturns, and psp'esque behaviour. Whats going on??? Surely complatency hasn't got the better of the board??

Paul, I could accept complacency no problem but I fear it is worse than that, I think it is self-interest and incompetence fuelling these u-turns and fiascos.

Now I don't really like giving forecasts for obvious reasons but I can't see Pedro lasting as a Millennium promoter for next year.....convenient scapegoat don't ya think :)

Ahhh, I love the smell of political chicanery in the morning :)

Pardon my naivety but I thought that kind of gauantee would already be in place before the tournament started?

If this is all true then I see no difference betwen this and, for example, buying a car, getting ready to drive it off the forecourt, and THEN the garage telling you to pay extra for an engine!!

Personally, if an organiser doubled the cost of a tournament just prior to me playing I'd walk and probably never go back.

I wonder what would have happened if all, or a massive majority of teams, had done just that?

Here's one thing I don't get....

... if everything is a as reported in regards to the X-Ball "Jersey-gate" scandal - WHY THE HELL DIDN'T THE TEAM CAPTAINS GET TOHETHER AND TELL THEM TO GO AND STUFF THEMSELVES??

If they are looking at the prospect of losing 3000 euros - why not make a statement and lose the first 3000 they where asked to put up - instead of losing ANOTHER 3000 into the pockets of the organizers?

This would have forced to organizers hand - either stick to the original deal or have no X-Ball at all...

Well I guess it depends exactly on what was written down, and what the teams signed.

If you looked at the small print for your car and saw that it was extra for an engine then you'd be stuffed unless you could prove that you were told the engine was included.

But it's a good point and if the teams knew nothing about the extra cash then it's heading dangerously close to fraudulant behaviour isn't it?

You se this kind of thing on Watchdog type programs all the time, we've got your cash, but if you want the work doing you'll have to cough up even more cash than the quoted price.

Set trading standards on them, or even better the BBC:D

hehehehehehehehehehe

Now that's funny - signing things - as far as I know the whole X situation is being done with verbal agreements.

But the galling factor is that the board has been somewhat vocal about their vision of Euro-X, but only want to give the teams 1/2 the story - and it goes on time after time.

My quesiton is when will the players finally say ENOUGH?

Goose...

I reckon the players will say enough when the NPPL make a bid to break into Europe hence the start of this thread. The millennium at the moment is just making it that much easier for them to get the toe in the door. :D

Then I guess the **** really is going to hit the fan then innit. even if the teams involved, can't/won't/don't say anything I can see a lot of other people doing so

I refer the honourable gentleman to the situation that is occuring in the US. That I guess is when.
But to be fair Millennium has been loudly and constantly hailed as the best tournament series on the Planet...until now.
Benefit of the doubt for one event? Just like NPPL but in reverse.:)

It's funny because, contrary to what some people believe - I don't think that Pete, Nick, myself and others want to see the Millennium die off - but lets face it, the MS appears to be resting on it's laurels - and not innovating anymore. Just look at the chaos going on at Portugal, everything that Pete held Jerry accountable for (World Cup 2 years ago), is being repeated - lousy site, lousy netting, catering to certain sponsors etc etc. Time for the series to get stop sitting on their brains, and start using them.

Well like everything in big business, the spoils go to the progressive thinker - IF YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOSE.

Guess WDP will soon have to change the meaning of their initials - from Who Dares Plays - to World Domination Paintball...

There has been, media wise, no greater advocate of the Millennium Series than myself, just read back some of things I have said about Laurent, Niall and the Millennium throughout the past few years in PGI...especially with respect to Jerry Braun's World Cup.

After all those glowing accolades I gave all of them over the years, not one of them, not even once, bothered to call to say thanks (not that I deserved any coz I was only stating what I believed).

And yet, when I criticise them, and remember, I am only telling the truth again, they attack me and want to shut me up in any way they can...well it ain’t gonna happen.

If you look for reasons for why the MS has gone sour, just refer back to my earlier explanation of self-interest (greed) and incompetence because I believe that will provide us all with the definitive explanation as to just why the MS is where it's at right now.
A sorry state of affairs yes, but undeniable.

And now I hear they have just had to cancel X-Ball; the question now arises, will X-Ball survive this traumatic birthing the Millennium midwives have inflicted upon it.
It looks shaky at the very least especially when the Draconian and insensitive mandate of an extra 3000 Euros being slapped upon teams will still have the teams all fuming.

Interesting times ahead and I bet Richmond must be pulling his hair out watching these idiots *******ise and destroy one of Paintball’s potential shining lights.

Nick
Much as I hate to correct you Nick, I should point out that it is not French/English you should be translating, it's Millennium/A.N.Other language.. and when you look it up it you will find that there is not an exact A.N.Other language equivalent.

Urban

EDIT : In fact there is an equivalent but I took it out.. wouldn't want to upset anyone.
