Dont generalize TJ!

Everybody knows that the RussianLegion is NOT a typical case in european paintball and I think we can even say that they are one of a kind.

Aaaand noone said what is fair and what is not......

Leave my mom out of this!

And so comes along a team made up of players cherrypicked from a playerpool larger than the Russian one, and they get solid financial backing, plus they put huge amounts of effort into training, and voila, they can compete with the Russians, and a number of US teams on equal footing within a year!

Can't for the life of me remember their name though....:D

I'll tell you what the big difference between the States and Europe is: Language!
That's the killer! Even after two years, it's hard as hell for me to play ball in Russian. The other American on the team is fluent, so it's no big deal for him. I understand about 60% of normal speaking, but then start screaming across the field and that drops to 30%. Most of the time it has no effect on the outcome of our games, but sometimes I misunderstand and it goes to hell.
and tha Russians have got Jack ****...yet they managed it OK.
It's like trying to build a Ferrari with the spare parts of a friggin' Chevy! Our player pool is less than 60-70 guys that could play at the Millennium level today, and the best 20 of those guys are with Legion and Legion Cadets. We can't even kick anyone off the team because we couldn't replace them if we did. Everyone else is novice level or low Am B with no Millennium experience. The biggest killer though is money, and who can afford to play seriously.

Now you can subtract another 30 from that player pool because of no $$$, and you have one Am B team that can afford to play Millennium and play well, one Am B team that is only playing 3 events because they can't afford to play them all, and then about 10-15 miscellaneous guys who play one event, or play for us or Knauf when we need a guy.

So for me, this team is the only opportunity that i have to play every Millennium event. Otherwise, it's back to local 5-man (and severe depression.)

That means 100% of the events attended by an American team were won by an American team.
Our game in the quarter finals was do or die for both our teams. 3 of the 4 teams could have gone through, depending on the results of that game.

Last year at London I believe both Trauma and the Bushwhackers attended and neither team made it to the final four and the event was won by Ton Ton Acyd

Did they not lose a game to an English team in the semi finals.....?
Which field did we play you guys on? For some reason I'm having a hard time recalling the games from Toulouse... can't remember which game was a stalemate and which was a loss (All Stars or Backlash), the online scores are no where to be found.

I'm not sure what romper stomped means, sounds like a kids cartoon, but if it means that we ran through the teams with ease then that is not the case. Toulouse was tougher competition then Portugal, it seemed like everyone showed up to win. We had to earn every one of our games, nothing was given to us. We came back from near elimination in both the quarters and the finals, not exactly what I'd call "easy".

In Toulouse this is how we performed:

Prelims:
Losses/Stalemates: Dynasty, Scalp, All Stars

Quarters:
Losses/Stalemates: Backlash

Semis:

Finals:
Losses/Stalemates: Powertrip - 1 game

Why do I say that? Look for the thread "Shoot the Cameramen" and you will understand!!!
I believe you are referring to Cyclone's game against Powertrip in the semis. I didn't see what happened, we were playing on the adjacent field, as far as I know the cameraman did not have an effect on our games. We would have liked to play Cyclone again for 1st and 2nd, a rematch of Portugal would have been cool!
