3--Will Baca Loco say something I agree with?
I've not seen the new guts but am looking forward to checking it out.

1--I think the best that can be said is that the old logo was uniquely PGI and separated it from the rest of the category. But it also limited, in some critical ways, the design options for freshening the mag.
2--evolution is what they's been doing. What is relevant is continuity. And that can be achieved in a variety of ways, both visually and content-wise.
3--only if you're right.;) :p :D

Oh thank fcuk for that, he's been gracious enough to 'accept' our explanation.
I and the rest of the PGI staff can now sleep tonight:rolleyes:

In science - Copernicus
In music - Bob Dylan
In architecture - Frank Lloyd Wright
In Economics/Game theory - John Nash
In Sport - Hayes Noel :)
Game theory John Nash, u r kiddin right, u saying he was not influenced by other mathematicians ??????

Bob Dylan not influenced by...my god the list would be endless for this one

And Copernicus not standing upon the shoulders of others before him?

Jeez not so 'hot'point, that's weak, damned weak !!!

I still maintain they blazed their own path. Just because somebody else created the starting point does not invalidate that position.

The fact they all led ultimately back to Rome did not mean the roads themselves were not new* :p

Your perogative TJ... but I still preferred the old Logo :)

Come on Robbo I never said these people were not influenced by the prior work of others. It was actually me who admitted they were by talking about "shoulders of giants" in the first place

TJ asked for some people who blazed their own trail and I listed a few. They may not be ideal but I didn't have time for research

Yeah Hotpoint, you old *******. Have you never heard of Lonnie Donegan?

Him and Copernicus were like that (imagine me crossing my first two fingers).
Well they were probably both threatened with being burned at the stake... :p :D

Hey Robbo, The art work etc in my sig pic is from "Apocalypse Paintball" Was designed by a comic book artist and of all the comments from the many people that see it through brochure and site advertisment, you are the only person to slate it. Now that seems odd to me. I dislike the new layout, so you dislike my sig.
Fair enough. But i aint that shallow.

Famine, I think he was ragging you... you know, like, if you like that sig then you've got no taste. But hey, I like the 'shallow' comment, cos that's kinda like... what's the word for it... you know like by denying it, you prove it. I can't think of the word.

Not gonna get into an argument over this, but i have now recieved 1 dislike to my sig/logo compared to how many on the new design PGI? ;)

There you go again. 'I'm not shallow, but I've only had one complaint and you've had... I win I win i win.' C'mon now, there's no need.

Now let me state my opinion,

Hold the front page, Famine is about to give us his opinion.... C'mon guy, lighten up. You shouldn't over-dub drumrolls.

and if ya dont like it then pffft, i am not alone in my thoughts though :)

Blimey, he's done it again, but it doesn't make your thoughts right does it? I mean that's really arrogant, you know like 'me and my friends don't like it' nah nah ni nah nah.'

Must admit, the Mag will appeal a lot to the Yanks, its there kinda layout. But i wouldnt say its international.
I think this issue has great content, just not used to the simple basic design that our american cousins favour.
Maybe a blend of the two would help both sides of the pond.

You know, if that'd been your first post we'd be having a good discussion now. Interesting point, bit of back-up and a solution. And no insults. Who told you to write that?

Just another little bit to add, Isnt it important for a company to have product identity? in which case surely it would make sense for this site and the mag to at least match up in logo and look?

Tch. But now you go and spoil it again by trying to have a pop, and trying to put us down.... I guess Famine that you're probably some kind of graphic designer, or animator(?) or involved in marketing, or probably the md of a little go-ahead company, but you know, if you actually took the big 'I am' out of your posts, you might actually get your points listened to.

It makes me wonder when I read posts like yours, how you actually survive in life: ' this is ****' 'this is crap' 'that's lazy' etc. Blimey, if most of us spoke to people like that we'd never have any friends. You do speak to people like that don't you... you know, to their faces?

You know Rancid, When have i said its crap, or thats lazy etc. ?
I survive in life through honesty, hard work and an open mind to things. If i have something to say, i will say it to someones face.

Dont even think i was putting the big I am in any of my posts sunshine. I was stating my opinion, on an open forum. Yet again though the staff at PGI close ranks to defend criticism. Thats fine mate. But dont try to drag other people down with words just to make yourselves feel special. Its pathethic.

No one tells me what to write, The forum is merely a little window into the world of paintball. But thats all it is. PGI is a reporting form of news in paintball, and the forum a place where people can discuss in relative openess whats new. Nothing too ground breaking there. Yet there is a high and mighty feel to the staff within. So a question back to you would be how do people like you survive in the world with their heads jammed up their butts? ;)
