fellow ballers, after my very serious accident at the world cup and numerous near misses involving other ballers is it not about time we actually took the matter of high pressure air just a little bit more seriously........
we know our bottles are up to the job! we get them tested
we know our regs are up to the job! cos the manufactures say so
we know our airlines are cos we say so! yerh what do we actually know
NOTHING THATS WHAT
is it not about time we stopped messing with plastic pipes and actually use something that is capable of taking the pressure if something was to go wrong....
after all would you drive a car if you thought the brake pipes might burst when you put your foot on the pedal..
we now need to channel our thinking just a little bit more towards safety of our eyes.. would go play without you googles
NO well a fitting or piece of pipe or a part of a regulator would do the same kind of damage if not worse if it was to hit you in the eye... i should know
6 days in a french hospital laying flat on my back and not speaking a would of french and not having a clue what was happening to me, medivac home on a stretcher and rushed into an operating theater for a complicated operation to repair 6 hole and a detached retina, 6 weeks of only being able to sleep sitting up, two months of work(you might think thats cool but after a few weeks you wouldnt. no work = no pay) and mostly no playing the sport i love so much for at least the rest of the year if ever again.
i think this makes me more than qualified to say just think a little when playing with high pressure air....
well what can we do....... make sure you know you airlines are capable of holding the preessure if something goes wrong, wear your googles when filling and dont take any thing for granted thats what......
take care guys and hope to see you all soon
