Hey Robbo, there was no offense meant in any way (note the lots of winking smileys after my last post). I found that thread really entertaining, just couldn't resist the opportunity at taking the pi$$ for once :D
Having watched you play for more years than either of us would probably want to admit to, I must say I agree that Nick probably couldn't teach you anything
Liz, as always gal, absolutely none taken, as for Nicky boy being able to teach me something ?
Well, there is absolutely no reason why he can't but on this occasion he didn't but for some unknown reason he seems hell bent on trying to tell everyone he did.
It's hard to work out what sometimes does go thru his mind but then I rememeber just how hard it is to try and work out what goes thru a woman's, so in the end.......I just give up trying altogether :)

robbo with 447 posts you must realise that things like email and posts can be misinterpreted, no matter if there a smilie face at the end.
i do agree though that poeple do use dyslexia as an excuse ( my mate has it and he would never use it as an easy way out)

Kris, I agree he may have misinterpreted it but generally speaking, the smiley face is a pretty good indicator as to how the poster wants his post interpreted.
That said, if he did mis-read it, that still doesn't justify his use of the dyslexia card, especially when he doesn't even suffer from it.
The man / boy is a piece of sh#t for doing that !!!
And you have to realise the context of this post, time and again, myself and other moderators have continually had to warn people regarding the sheer number of drivel posts we get.
The defence of our policy becomes tiresome and aggravating when we have to keep stating how we feel so many times.
It would seem as though some people just don't want to listen or see sense.

my two pence worth....

Personally, i think you are just hypocrites.

1.
I have been through a random selection of threads, and guess what I found....

All you moderators talk as much BS as everyone else, right or wrong, you all go off on a tangent from the original thread.

Take this for example.
Original post - please stop posting crap
The people who post crap (sometimes) - try to defend themselves
Robbo chips in his two pence worth, - openly slagging of Dace C.
Dave C - tries to defend himself
Etc, etc

(And while I'm on the subject- I wonder - are you a doctor robbo? you know the symptoms of Dyslexia?, Do you know Dave C in RL? if not then you have no right (or proof) to say the DC has or hasnt got dyslexia)

And there is a perfect example of the thread going off track.

2. As Famine already stated, by using this board, we have helped bring teams together, to faces to names. To socialise, chat and talk about the sport we love...

if we dont advertise, then people wont come! How do we know who's up for it and who aint unless we post ona public forum. (We are good, but we ain't mind readers)

I thought that this is why boards like these are created. To bring people togther, with something in common.

If you take away the ability for people to say what they want, then all this board will be left with is:

Help-I've broke it?
Help where do i find it?

You know, 'cos THOSE type of posts will REALLY attact new people in to these boards! (that was sarcasm in case you didnt notice).:D

And again, you miss the point...

Yes, threads disolve into rubbish a lot of tha time and then they get old and die off - fine. Yes, sometimes we talk **** and that's fine. I have no problems with thredz like 'So what music do you guys like?' cos it's a shared thing, a communal thing, that ballers from all walks of life can respond to. The point is that a lot of threads here lately start off 'Who's going to Sparklie's this Sunday?' or 'Team X practise - see you guys down there!' They are aimed at a very small no. of people and this ain't the place for them.

These boards are aimed at bringing people together to talk pball, yes, but some people are - for the ten thousandth time - using them as a little messaging service for a small clique.

This ain't a dig at your team man, just accept what we say please. If you don't like it, then use another board, if you do, stay. It ain't rocket science.

People can say what they want, sure, but it needs to be aimed at the wider pball population, not just a handful.

Seriously, most other boards and moderators wouldn't go to these lengths or be this nice, they'd just say 'These are our rules, this is our business, our livlihood. Step outta line too many times and you get barred.'

This ain't no different to a bar, or a pball site. You go for a drink or a game and have a good time, but you play by the bar owner's or the field owners rule's. If the bar owner asks you nicely to not do something, you stop or you get barred. If the field ultimate does the same, the same happens. You don't like it, you find another bar or another field to play at.

Don't forget that this site is a business, and tha people who own that business want to make it grow. You may think they're going about it the wrong way, and that's fine, but respect the fact that it is their business and their choice.

Is that not reasonable?

peace

I'm a hypocrite am I?
And there was silly ol me thinking that a hypocrite was somebody who did the very thing that he was criticising others for.

Pestilence, before you try and look all clever and righteous, you better make damn sure you not only talk sense but have researched what you base your statements on.
If you had properly read the posts that I and other moderators have made regarding these 'inane drivel' posts as we now call them, we all have made the point and all acknowledged that everybody at times drifts off subject, that is a given !!!

We tried to define the 'inane drivel' posts as those that started off as drivel and just continued in that vein for pages and pages.

I have never started a thread off in such a manner and if you can find one, then present it here, if not, then shut the f##k up calling me a hypocrite, so don't try and frikkin smart ass yourself at my expense !!!!

And come to think of it Pestybollocks, I wasn't aware that one had to have a medical degree to have a working knowledge of any modern day affliction.
I certainly have enough to make the statement I made and I am not declaring that source for a dick like you, suffice to say, we ain't exactly seen the guy come screaming back on here declaring the authenticity of his illness like one would expect....and if he does now ....I think it might be a tad too late and far too transparent !!!!!
If you go back over every post I have ever made on these boards, you will see they are informed and researched in areas as diverse as science, mathematics, history, languages and so on............. oh and even including paintball......go on Pestybollocks, go back over them and see for yourself !!!!!

So next time you wanna look clever Pesty, get your frikkin facts right !!!!

Way too late Dave and way too transparent, I don't believe you.
And if you had been telling the truth and had faced the dilemma of informing the University of your choice then you would know that Universities now have an active policy of encouraging those applicants who suffer from Dyslexia as long as they meet the required entrance standards.
Are you saying this is not the case?

Oh and by the way Dave, Doctors don't officially release anything, if you wanted to tell the Uni or any prospective employer, you don't need a frikkin doctor to do it for you.

Now the real reason why your spelling sucks (not that it matters any) is what you have just touched upon, that you were moved to a different school at a critical phase of your education but please don't insult my intelligence any more by perpetuating this lie of dyslexia (mild as you now call it).

Dave, if firstly you had realised I was having a 'friendly' joke with my initial post and not compounded your misinterpretation with the dyslexic thingy, we would not be here now.
All, you had to do was to bring me to task for being inappropriate (although, I didn't in any way mean to be) and at the same time explain your lack of spelling skills in the way you have already told us all, then all would have been cool.
Your move Dave !!!!
